I know that there are loads of superstitions on board ships even now-a-days but is that unlucky for the ship or the person that changed the name?

That is where the old tale of a green car being unlucky came from, origionally it was a green ship that was unlucky, another useless piece of information I picked up over the years :D

It supposedly changes the luck of the ship and all who sail on her, I work on Felixstowe Dock and about half the ships that come in you can see have changed names over the years. :eek:

Green cars are unlucky as ya cana see them going fast round tight bends in Scotland.. Green ships must a been piloted by Tight Scottish blokes :)
