hey guys

my name's paul, im 21 from brighton and don't have a 300zx! gulp :)

planning on buying one mid-2007 (projected timescale for funds/insurance), will be looking at a twin turbo, probably import. hoping to learn alot before i get one, blatantly the way to go as ive learnt with my last two cars, a (real) vw beetle and 205 gti.

ive liked zxs for years, i seriously think they are one of the best lookin cars around, i really dont understand why theyre not more popular!

Spend a couple of weeks on here mate and I think all will become clear. You'll see they are really...................

Welcome to the madhouse....

projected timescale for funds/insurance

My advice is if you're a homeowner, then re-mortgauge ;):D

hehe well of course theyre popular on here! :) i just barely see any around. saw a wicked silver one in brighton last week (i think). had a z centre shark front bumper, looked awesome for the 2 seconds i saw it. anyone know whose it is?

are they much maintenance, do they often go wrong? and will i need deep pockets once ive bought one? i figure the more i can save up for the car in the first place, the less i'll spend afterwards on fixing it!

my beetle and pug have both given me costly grief :p

is there any way of editing posts on here? just to save double posting? i am definitely not a homeowner, i have next to no money hehe ;)

If I were you I would be looking to buy either one of the cars for sale on here. Where it is a known car with history and usually had all the basic mods done. Or you get on to someone like http://www.GT Culture.com (I'll check to ensure that is correct) they used to be http://www.linney.org. These are import specialist who will sorse an A one condition car from Japan with what ever modes you require.

They got a Gen 7 Celica TRD for my wife. You just never see em over here. Good people as are the guys on this board and went you go to meets etc and see the standard of the cars owned by 300zx.co.uk club members you'll realise how raty a lot of 300's are, because the cars here are top notch.

cheers mate. i think buying a car off this site would be good, just because it would be well known whats been done to it and whether its been completely ragged or looked after :)

We all ragg em that the point of having em, but if you know the oils been changed every 4K and its been lavished with £1000's of proper goodies and not silly bling bits you'llproberbly be getting a good'n.

Dont wait bud. I bought mine when i was 19  .

But trust me, it will rob all your money! lol

i figure the more i can save up for the car in the first place, the less i'll spend afterwards on fixing it!

Thats true. But you'll just spend more modding it!

hehe 19!!!! how did you insure it? unfortunately i don't have £4.5k lying spare :D need to do a couple of websites first to bring in the cash ;)

im loving these bananas!

Nice one bud!! You must have damn good taste too lol

Well, get the website done. :D Its well worth it in the end. I worked like fook to get mine. Just had to search for ages to get insured. Had to have a few limitations though, ie garaged, 5000miles a year etc..

Yup, the bananas are good. :nana2:  :nana2:

so who did you insure with in the end? and how much was it on that quote at 19?

best part of your sig blatantly isnt the car though! :)

Welcome to the club mate. like the boys said, start saving now - not just for the car but for mods/repairs too. the Beetle and 205 are nothing compared to the Z - but for a reason :D :D :hyper:

Wow, another from brighton. I got my Zed last week, off Andy Z (a trader on here, really nice guy). I live in southwick, but am often in brighton
