Hi Guys,

Had an accident in the Zed about 18months ago due to a fox and a slippery road!!! :headvswal

The dilema now is do I try to fix her up or break it up and use my money to buy a new one.

The car spec is as follows:

1990 Uk TT

SE Nissan fast road rebuild auto box that has only covered about 2000 miles and an uprated oil cooler.

Hybrid turbo's fitted just after the rebuild box.

Performance air filter

Performance exhaust including decat pipes.

JWT Chip

Standard bodywork and wheels.

The damage is all on the OS but includes the front bumper, front wing, door and quite a bad dent in the rear quarter. Other things that could do with doing are the sills.

My main concern is how much it will cost for the rear quarter as I don't want to spend loads of money having it sorted when I could have bought another Zed for the same money. Mechanically the car is sound but it's just the bodywork :smash: that is a concern. It still runs and drives fine.

Has anyone had the rear quarter replaced and if so how much did it cost???

An accident damaged car is always a damaged car something somewhere will not be right. better off breaking it. firstly cost of pannels scondly the cost of a respray etc etc.. better to sell parts off and buy another. i know a man who is looking for an engine and turbos ;) if you want to sell. pm me and ill give you my phone number.

good luck with wahtever you decide to do :duffer:

why not buy a standard one, take all your good stuff off and fit it to that then break ur smashed one and the stuff you have taken off the new one?

shotgun your internal plastics by the way!! :smw: :D

It would be better if you posted Pics!! :)

It would also be less expensive repairing it really than buying another sound zed and transfering parts.

Depends how bad the damage is and how much the Zed means to you. Have you had any quotes yet?:)

Thanks guys,

I've not had any quotes yet but i'm sure it won't be cheap. the other thing about repairing the car is that there are other things that need doing to make the car look as good as a Zed really should. For example the spoiler is an original and is wet inside so need replacing and the rear lights are cracking around the edges. I also need another boost controller as I sold mine to a forum member after I took the Zed of the road. once I add all this to the repair costs for the damage it starts to add right up. I have seen a lot of nice cars owned by guys on the forum for sale recently for around £4500 and I'm thinking I should just give this one up as a bad job and buy one from someone of the forum who is selling theirs.

How much should I be looking to get for the engine and turbo's and how much for a SE fast road rebuild auto box that has hardly been used??

Cheerz guys

i had quotes for engines from £500-1000. suppose it depends how good your engine is (miles etc)? not sure about the turbos though. i would of thought it shouldnt be too hard breaking it as many members on here would possibly be interested in some bits.

think it may be better to break the car and buy another...........im sure im selling a nice red zed??? ;)

hope you get yourself sorted, oh and avoid those foxes!!!

gaz!

I would get a few quote's first!! lights arent expensive either!! 99 spec around £180 from Luke a pair cash or good used at £40-£60 a pair..

Even if the body work come's to £3000 its still cheaper then buying another zed and you will know your's throughout(better the devil you know).

you never know how good the new zed will be a few month's down the line!!

I wouldn't give up! i've been there and done that with much regret!

Si,

If neither Chunk nor (Z)Master buys your SE box then I'd be most interested.

Cheers!
