I found this one today:

What do you guys think could be broken except for the front bumper? It's an n/a so no intercoolers. Is there anything directly behind the bumper on an n/a except for the air intake? What about the steering arches, could they be damaged?

The bumper's only plastic, so that would have had a relatively minor shunt.

There's nothing directly behind that. The rad is about 30cm's behind that.

Oh, okay. So you think there's a chance nothing else is broken except for the bumper?

If I just have time tomorrow I'll go and take a look at it, hope it would be okay as it's realtively cheap.

Non turbo ken?

Yep, it's a non turbo. I would really, really, want a TT, but I've been thinking about this and it would be economicaly safer to buy a n/a. In a couple of years when (not if ;)) I have enough money to be able to run a TT I deffinately will buy one :) The n/a has after all 220BHP and 0-60 on under 8 secs :)

Just make sure it starts up n runs nicely with no water leaks.

Then get it jacked up at the front to have a good look underneath at the suspension.

If all is ok then the only thing you gonna need is a replacement front end.

Good s/h front bumpers are available here VERY cheap. And since they are urethane they will ship to you with little danger of damage. Unlike many of the aftermarket stuff which is made out of cheap n nasty fibreglass

It looks like the classic, got to close to the kirb damage

Your doing the right thing Ken, buying n/a as your first zed helps you find your way around the car with minimal risks. and after a while you can decide weather you want to up to the tt. I stuck with n/a's for years before this and i would have either. they are both superb. Best of luck.

I couldn't go there today :( But if his just at home tomorrow I'll go then. He told that one of the things that hold the wheel straight (sorry I don’t know the English word for it, but there is a pic below) is bent. I guess this isn't a good sign, and there is probably much else bent due to that. Does anyone have any experience about this?

Btw, I saw an add on used car sale website where there was a N/A Z LHD in London for sale. I can post up some pics and contact details if he answers on my e-mail, maybe someone of you know him :)

Okay, now I've seen it. Its a TOTAL mess. It is brought from the US where it was going to be thrashed by a insurance company who had taken it in. It's leakin oil all over, and there is a clicking sound from the gearbox when you press the brakes. At first it wouldn't even start, and when it did I thought I would die in the smell of exhast and petrol. It didn't go even, and sometimes it even almost shut down. It would probably cost more than 10 grand euros to get it fixed. So no deal there.. I offered him a little money for taking it though (as reserve parts) so lets see if he can't get it sold, I'm the proud owner of a nonworking N/A SWB Z :p
