Just went and collected my zed (black tt manual 52000miles). Was fine on the 50 mile journey back and now seems to be pumping horrible shite from the exhaust and sometimes cuts out when i'm stopping!

It hasn't been given a proper drive for ages up until now and I took it easy. Anybody got any ideas and what should the oil pressure gauge read.

Help would be appreciated as I've waited ages for a decent low mileage car and would be mortified if this was a cronk!!

oil pressure gauge on a z never reads correctly so not a good indication,if it's pushing out smoke on tick over could be one of two things turbo seals or pcv valves turbo seals is usually blue smoke, pcv valves blue/grey in my experience

Suppose I'd better get it to a specialist then any idea if there is a good one near london.

Will it cause irrepairable damage by continuing to drive it?

Take a look in our Traders Section. Zen Garage & Ztech should both be able to help you.

If you have just bought it take it back and ask for you money back.

There are loads of really good Zeds out there. Once they go wrong they can be an expensive hassel. Always pays to get a good'n in the first place and quite frankly if I'd just picked one up and it started smoking within 500 miles I'd be back for a refund which your entittled to upto 3,000 miles or 3 months which ever comes first.

You should have months of hasel free motoring with any car you just bought so sack it and get a proper one.

If you have just bought it take it back and ask for you money back.

Unless of course he bought it privately 'sold as seen'

If it was from a dealer however I agree. take it back and get you cash.

I bought the car from a dealer but he says he knows his rights and wont give me a penny. Trading standards say differently though!

Also went to get the tracking done and the bushes have gone...how has it got 10 months mot if they're gone! I'm so pissed off I've been waiting to own one of these gorgeous cars for ages.

Anybody had any experience and managed to get some money back?

Must thank you all for your help again...and gaz if i get my money back I'll rue the day I didn't buy yours sorry mate!

If You Like The Car You've Bought, You Could Get An Inspector To Look At The Car To Find Out Everything That Is Wrong With It And Go To The Dealer And Say That If He Doesn't Get Everything Fixed By A Reputable Mechanic At His Cost Then You Will Get Trading Standards Involved. Also See If You Can Find Out More About The Mechanical History Of The Car, E.g. Contact The Previous Owner If Possible And Ask What Work He Had Done.

Also Another Thing To Get Checked Out Is That Cam Belt.

Hope My Advise Can Help You In Any Way.

Take the fookin thing back and get your money back. No matter what it shouldnt do that after 50 miles. Imagine what the future holds?

I asure you that even a private seller must not sell anything not fit for the purpose and you will have up to 3 months to get you money back. I have to know contract law for my work as thats 90% of what I deal in.

The only way I could sell you a knackered Z with no come back would be to advertise it as spares or repair and therefore declaring that the car was not considered fit for the purpose of anything else.

PS do not spend any money on it or he will argue that you were aware of the deffects and purchased it in full knowledg.
