I've never had a "play" with a supra, nor a "play" with a wrx, gto , or anything else for that matter. Don't need to. I run a stock engine so supra will probably beat me 0-60 from what i've read on here.

 

300zx is a drivers car, you have to work hard and concentrate at different speeds to get real enjoyment. but that is the enjoyment. So I guess it comes down to personal preferences. For some, milisecond differences and rapid accelleration are the buzz.

For others it's just the thrill of driving a car which just feels right in every aspect. That's what the zed does. And it's been doing it since 1969 :)

In june south side of Dartford tunnel. silver supra. Not sure what model N/A or turbo. I was sat behind him in road works. after the road works the road was clear. We both hit the gas. Left him standing. May have been non turbo as I said which would have been unfair but he went for it too. All I know was it had a big bore tail pipe and it sounded lovely. But just wasnt up to sratch. just one example to start with.

Nobody said that the zed is not a pretty car.

In my eyes it's gorgeous, that's why I almost bought one about a year ago. I test drove quite a few. Long or short versions, they are low-slung, sexy and mean.

Unfortunately they are also heavier than the supra and the sleek bonnet that makes them so pretty doesn't allow for much airflow around the engine --- leading to all sorts of heat-related issues.

 

In the end I went for the supra because of the higher-bhp potential and better (overall) reliability track record.

 

Looks-wise, I think that the zed is marginally prettier (in my eyes), but performance is another matter. Once a boosted supra gets going, it's GONE

A *stock* UKSpec supra with the traction control fuse off can do 180 mph on a long straight, real ones (Toyota figure)

Uprated ones, still on stock turbos/fuelling/etc can do 190+ on GPS instruments, on the Autobahn.

The zed can't match that, can it?
