once again a massive thanks to phill at c&s wood for the awsome engine rebuild on my zed, she is an absolute beauty, he really has gone into a lot of care and attention on the engine and well worth it too, its very responsive and turns over really quietly and smooth, problem is i cant go over 50mph for 500miles DOH!!

his work really is first class you have to see it to belive it,

Great news hope this one is the last mate,as for the running in you need to vary the RPM up to about 4k,If you stick to 50mph you could glaze the bores.

yeah good point there macca was varying the speed and the revs today taking it easy, coming up 2 santa pod on sun 9th oct bud not sure what the show is called though LOL!! trying to do 500 miles before then should be fun LOL!!

its not so much speed or revs its weight, you need to keep the weight off the engine, for example dont struggle going up a hill at 1500 rpm.

Seconded!! No large throttle openings! This is most important.

AH! i see dont strain the engine, going on a trip tommorow round wales but there are mountains around what should i do if going up a big hill?? put overdrive off and keep the revs high maybe??

Personally I would say there is nothing wrong with having the engine at 3500rpm maybe a little over.

I would rather have the engine have an easy job going up a hill at 4000rpm than have it struggle at 1500-2000 while running in.

Nice one, no suprises it's a great job though- Phil's a top bloke.

Very nice looks quality, but one question, how can putting excessive load on the engine cause the bore to glaze?

AH!! mr home brew as i understand it its by not loading the engine that glazes the bores because you are not working the engine enought to let the piston rings bed in properly, you will find that you will get a carbon depostit build up on the bores which will also hinder the bedding in prosses, so as i was told, dont drive too slow but drive firmly and dont over rev!!

Heh - Phils got a move on with that - When I picked mine up your still had no engine in it - I know because I was checking the condensor piping out with Phil and theres was a big hole where the engine lives!!!! Looks great now!
