I've recently put a set of Toyo Proxes on and I've very impressed with both wet & dry performance.

Try Event Mobile Tyres, very competitive, and they come to your house or work to fit them :D

got falken GB451s all round. cheap tires, but handle nicely in both wet and dry.. (so far)

iv always used Nankang.. tried more expensive ones.. some aren't as good and others dont seem any better, and i do drive her hard! got mine from the site in the link above.. cost £94 for 235/35/19 and £104 for 265/30/19, on my 2nd set in 2 years, i know peolpe like the top end stuff but these are good... anyone else used them?

I have Nankangs on the front. They are not bad (especially since they were only £60 for 235 , 17"), but give too much understeer when pushed hard. Dont grip anything like the Goodyears F1's. .

have to agree... the nankangs are great for everyday usage, but if you start to push on them, they just slide out.

Used to have them on my evo.. cheap and cheerful...

thats where i got mine from... just dont get them fitted at quick-fit!! messed mine up good and proper! if you look at the site they will send the tyres to your local specialist, and give you a set price for the fitting etc.. wish i'd done that rather than driving about with 4 bloody big wheels and tyres cramed in the back of my rover!

Hi Brakedust

Did you get your wheels from Kickstart Motorsports.

Do you mind me asking you how much you paid for them.

I got a set of 18"x8's Vortex rims (new) off ebay for £250 then went round to my local part worn tyre dealer and got 2 Mitchellin's on the back and 2 Conti's on the front for £150, and they're as new with no repairs.

No thanks bud, you never know what tyres they have and its even rarer they will have 18" tyres even in stock !! I like to be able to choose exactly what brand and type of tyre i want rather than just get given anything they have left in stock in that size ..

BF Goodrich Profiler

Even with mental power they stick like shit to a blanket!

It does depend on where you go, if you go to a little back street dealer then you don't get a choice but the one near me had about 15 sets for me to choose from, all top brands and always in stock. 18" are pobably one of the most common sizes these days.

Anyway, you shouldn't need to spend that sort of money on super grippy black round things if you're doing 30 in a built-up area. If your car is loosing grip around a corner then youre just going too fast - simple as that

18" are pobably one of the most common sizes these days.

15" and 16" are still the most common. 18" are ofcourse becoming more popular with Car modifiers, but to actually get them in the widths the zed runs is still very rare.

Tyre choice is critical, and makes the biggest difference between a crap handling car and a great handling car.

There is also a big difference between all off the tyre types a Manufacturer supplies.

If I found somewhere that hard Part worn tyres in the Sizes I wanted and the make, model I wanted I would snap them up. But thats unlikely to happen.
