Yep, completely depends on the age and model. It was quicker than the porsches of the same era at its launch.

 

and ofcourse the zed was a 35-40k when new too.

Well i've managed to stay with a 54 plate 911 Carerra 4S cabrio up until 155, when he hit his limiter and i pulled passed :D:D:D The look on his face was a picture!!!

And the blonde in the passenger seat looked even more confused!!!

Porsches don't have limiters. BMW's, Mercs and Audis do but not Porsches.

My mate has a 911 GT3 (approx 2 years old) and we have obviously raced alot and the results are as follows:

 

Acceleration - The Porker is faster, probably around 2 secs over the 1/4 mile

Braking - Dont follow one to closely is all I am saying

Cornering - In the dry the porker is so fast, in the wet Its a case of which driver is more stupid.

I know you wont believe me, but ive kept up with a carrera 4 in my wifes fiesta rs turbo, (its a 2ltr with a stage 3 t3 & more) only went up to a ton though, as a roundabout appeared! I do know it would of had me in the end, but it was good watching him chase me!

i have a tt and it kill's boxter's, the s version as well, i have it on camcorder to, i must up load it some time.

Yes, my Leon Cupra will give a boxster a run for its money. The Boxster S is a little more difficalt but the Z will do it, doubt an NA would though.

I can't stand comments like this. The Boxster is an excellent car and not just driven by posers. It is also not a poors mans 911. Anyone who thinks so has never driven one.

i have driven the old boxster s 3.2, is is excellent. i am sure it will kill a 300zx around a track.

 

also my brothers 993 carerra 4 convertible is a quick car and again handles better than my tt zed.

Didn't they have a power hike with the latest boxster? brought up to Zed power? No knocks from me, Porshes are proven race cars whatever the model, and I wouldn't kick one out of my drive! Dave

round a track i wouldnt be suprised if a boxster S would beat a Z but look at the weight difference and the layout??? they are both built for two totally different purposes and as far as the GT3 goes, i wouldnt challenge one!! Unless i had my mate's nismo R32 GTR.

Boxster is a pretty good car but the Boxster S is a truly fine car. In a straight line neither would beat a stock Z32TT but both would take an N/A.

 

Performance for the S is however fairly close to a Z32TT so it could come down to driver ability, or if your ZX is worn out you may lose......

 

However in the twisties the S would have the ZX unless you have some nice suspension upgrade....
