Hi, insane road users,

I've met by chance, sheer fluke another Z & driver in a garage the other day. Had a chat looked at cars etc etc, bored the girlfriend for 1/2 an hour (so)! on comparison It seems I have some throttle lag. When driving with spirit in mind! up or down the manual gears, I have about a 1-1.5 second delay after big right foot hits carpet before the real grunt appears :-) is this ok or am I on the look out for something going wrong. cheers.

Is the boost indicating a delay too and is it going up most of the scale?

Cheers Jez, havn't noticed guage movement at the same time, too busy trying to focus on next MK roundabout, but must do 5 mins sedate motoring to watch for this.

Throttle hesitation could be one of about a million things, probably best bet for an easy fix is to check for error codes on the ECU and get a service done, (i.e replace / clean plugs and New Fuel Filter)

Failing that have a look at the the Tech page at www.zhome.com they have a very good page about diagnosing and repairin hesitation. Your sounds pretty bad so it should be easy to diagnose if it happens every time.

Throttle hesitation is very often caused by misaligned

throttle butterfly valves.

I suggest that you clean the throttle bodies first and adjust the

Throttle Position Sensor afterwards.

Take a look in the Tech section of my home page for some tips.

Good luck!
