Has anyone cleaned their engine bay , got it nice and shiny and kept it clean? If so what cleaning agents are safe to use? Been trying to get my lazy arse to do this for 5 years. :o

Check out my engine bay in my rides section.

I used wd40 with small brushes and cloths .. took me ages but looks great. Just don't clean it with water or a high pressure spray.

Just drop the engine out, makes cleening so much easier ;)

been drawing again apollo? very cool! with i could draw that well!

i cleaned mine with a dab of brasso, takes ages to get off again but good results if you stick at it, best just using normal polish on your paint and back to black on your black bits, or try a drill with a polishing cloth on it on ur inlet's? going to do this to mine sometime this week i hope so ill let you know how it goes! :D

Thanks for the advice fellas. Looks like i'll have a busy weekend!

Ive done mine, had a few pics but cant find any now i go to look for them.

I used a combination of wd40, autoglym super resin polish, and other cleaning bits and bobs.

Main thing to remember is if you clean the paintwork under there with wd40 you have to polish it after, or the dirt will just stick to it.

I sprayed with degreaser and jetwashed it off.

This method is not recommended by most, but I have done this on dozens of cars with no ill-effects.

I did this on my nova and my astra, but wouldnt contemplate it on my 300, just too many electrical gizmos under there to ruin.

Everyones seen how much some of the connecters goo up with green stuff with only light dampness, jetwashing the engine will give you a hell of alot of this a few months down the line.
