exactly!

As i'm not allowed to sell on here, if i get no emails about this, i'll be putting it on ebay in January.

Cheers, Ian

Before everyone ends up blowing there earnings but i found this:

http://www.amzperformance.com/z32/?page=shop/flypage&product_id=367&category_id=e557f836f6218033fae53ee30c981978&

It's built for the Zed gearbox, i'm not too sure what it means but i think it's closer ratio 1st-3rd stock 4th and high 5th

Woth a look guys as it's cheap as chips in comparison $1700

As my ZX TT can cruise at 90mph around 3200rpm in fifth i dont think a 6 speed box would be much of a gain. Well yeah you would get better acceleration but aint a stock ZX TT fast enough already? Well maybe not for some of you nutters

Only a gain on a very peaky engine. Waste of time any other time and on a TT with a wide torque band. Every gear change costs about 0.2 seconds lost acceleration otherwise.

If It was fast enough and quick enough it would be the fastest car in the world which unfortunatly its not! and would out race anything which they don't. Very quick car for its time!

We all know £500 for a good condition 350z 6 speed box is a steal when you compare it to a custom box for the zed or even a second hand 5 speed 300zx box.

Someone's going to get a great bargain. I wish it was me but time of year i am affraid!

Has anyone looked into how much the adapter plate is for the 350 gearbox to 300 engine + starter motor adapter plate? I can't imagine it'll be cheap + you've got the cost of the box.

here's someone that actually did the conversion:

magic words: "nothing fits, absolutely nothing, we could have used a caterpillar tranny"

Seen it mate! i posted this on here a few months ago with not much response.

I wish mine was that clean underneath though! :D

Means nothing to me (and most likely 99% of the people on the site) could have just said to me

"spangle dongle" and it would mean as much.

In English. What would it do on 0 - 60 times for a TT Z32? In theaory :smash:

Deffinatley a close ratio box on the Z33 compared to the Z32.

I used to have a Cav SRi 150 8 years ago and that had a close Ratio box and was definatley a hell of alot quicker compared to the standard F18 box in most standard Cavs.

Not comparing two different car's Ie: a 150bhp car to a 120bhp car!! My box blew in the SRi and i could not find a close ratio Used box anywhere they were like rocking horse S**T to get hold of even new. so i fitted an standard F18 normall ratio (Not expecting much Difference)and the thing felt Guttless compared to when it had the Close ratio Box in it.

Big regret that was. :(

The point here is A closer ratio box or high gear Axle always makes a hell of a difference compared to standard.

Even more when pulling a Heavy Car ;)

Imagine the difference it would make on a TT Z32 :D

Speciality z sells well did a gear for the diff oh hang on i'll get you the link not sure if they are any good or not but here you go.

theory of it sounds good.

you can make the stock 5 speed box a close® ratio by installing a NA diff/subfr. or a 4.1 ratio drive gear in the current diff (http://www.leadergears.com/site/content.php?content.5).

One of the better modifications for the Zed imo.

This increases the axle ratio but does not make the box a closer ratio!

A closer ratio box would have closer gear ratios which would be different to a Higher ratio diff.

A higher ratio diff would make a difference as well.

You could do both at the same time and have an increadibly quick car.

It would run out a steam more sooner but where can you do 175mph anyway?

Putting a Complete Diff on will be a hell of a lot easier than trying to mesh up a new Gear set.

what about a quaife diff and the diff gear :D

Sweet......

Has anyone bought a quaife diff???

i keep debating moving it up my wish list lol

I believe HKS do a 6-speed box for the Z32......I remember seeing it in a catalogue I got from Japan that I gave to Luke at Z Centre. I think it was about $4,500.

And I'm pretty sure I've seen a 6 ratio gear set for our box as a conversion on my travels through cyberspace but can't remember where.......

Ahh But does anyone do a 5 Speed or 6 speed auto box?

If somebody gets the drawing from the guy who did the conversion in the US, i will get the adaptor made up and include it in the price.

Not trying to start a war here, but your definition it’s also wrong.

True closed gear ratios box, have the first 2 gears very long…as the rest will fall very short.

just like the OS GIKEN kit....
