I just put 130w bulbs in my fogs, had to put a 30amp fuse in instaed of the stock 15 as it blew straight away.

They look great and bright as fook,

Am i safe or asking for melted lights and/or an electical fire?

you may get a overload on the wiring also the bulbs may not last long because of the small size of the lights and the heat generated by the bulb,i fitted 100w bulbs in my bmw fog lights and within 2 weeks they had blown

or asking for melted lights and/or an electical fire?

Probably both at the same time. Thats 22amps of current they are drawing.

Fog lamps are only legal for use in poor visibility(ie fog) due to their position on the car.

Use in normal darkness is illegal.

Stupid and pointless excercise IMHO :smash:

I'd say you'd be better off with brighter versions of the standard wattage H3 bulb - something like Osram Super +30% or PIAAs.

No wiring, fuse or bulb life problems.

Question is, what do you want the lights for?

Is it is for better visibility in fog, rain or drizzle then extra bright bulbs will be worse as the light will be reflected back from the weather conditions. The "all weather" bulbs with the yellow/blue coating are much more suitable as the yellow light cuts through precipitation so you can see the road. (Front fogs are legal for use in fog or rain - only rears are illegal to use there is no fog and visibility is NOT less than 100 yards.)

If it is to supplement your headlights, best not do it. You only look a nob like Saxo drivers and piss everyone else off. Just buy brighter headlamp bulbs or fit the HID upgrade.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

My hadlight bulbs are 35w and as bright as candles, ive used 100w bulbs for the past 6 months or so without any problems (except the odd flash off blinded drivers!) and yes i use them to supplement my headlights, most of the time i use them instead of my headlights.

I might look at HID or converting the headlights to uk bulbs in the future.

In the meantime get your sunglasses on if your driving in front of me!!!
