Hi, just wondering...the bits under the wing of my uktt...what are they for...I see they are linked to the exhaust just before the cats....are they summit to do with emmissions...just askin because I'm planning to decat and thought I could get rid of that lot!!

 

any ideas would be appreciated....

I'm normall wrong also but I dont think UK TT's have cat overheat warning light so no cat overheat gubbins?

Are the AIVS not in the wing?

forgot to mention, as all thinks mostly nissan ,, what is the point in having them in the first place and for all the people who have decatted, what do they do with the cable and bits to the exhausts, just remove em too?

Basically they pass fresh/clean air into the cats to help dilute the emissions.

Get rid of them to help destroy this awful planet! :dance: :rofl:

one little quick question here, on the explanation to get rid of this lot, the guy in question just bends the linking pipe to the exhaust and obviously gets rid of everything else....if you decatt, i take it you just get rid of that pipe as well when you ditch the cats?

On this age of car they probably aren't doing anything anyway and often start making loud gurgling noises.

There's a write up on servicing them on twinturbo.net if you feel the need to keep them but if you've decatted then they are just a big pile of heavy junk.

Seems to be a lot of it at the moment LOL

I've been pi$$ing my pants at some of the wierd advice given on here recently.

Never used to happen :rolleyes:

Just people eager to help i suppose so shouldn't complain.

i had this with my old nova

 

any car that is registered before aug 1992 does not need a cat for the MOT
