Have the old Z problem of my drivers doorlock spinning without opening the door, I know this is a broken link and I need to remove the outside door handle, but my question is can I remove this handle (two nuts) without pulling all the window gear out and the glass, which looks a nightmare.

Featured Replies

I removed both door handles earlier this year when I had my respary done without removing the window and gear inside the door.

I concur- it's still a PITA though, especially getting it all back in once you've fixed it.

Yup, door handle only - no need for glass rtc to be removed.

If it's the same as my old car - yellow plastic bracket -

I couldn't get one so bought whole lock with plastic bracket attached from Nissan.

40 odd quid - just to get that bracket.

my mate has same prob on his z and nissan have just quoted £90 for a replacement handle

been there -done that - only needs the door handle removed - no glass out etc. found the bracket was fractured, someone should have made it out of metal!. suspect it broke due to the stress of an after market c/lock actuator that came with the alarm. Still so long as the c/lock works off the fob - who needs a key - right(yeah right, some hope)

Thank You all for your help

Find a small bit of metal about the right shape and cut and drill it till it fits- it's not too tough and you'll save the prices that people quote above! :D
