Phonecall at 4pm from my Wife, hysterical to say she had just been in a Head on collision on a Single carriageway in her MPV. My 7 month old daughter and mother-in-law also in the car.

Jumped in car, and screeched there to find Wife in ambulance, Daughter on Respirator and mother-in-law at side of road in neckbrace surrounded my paramedics.

Spent the evening in Hospital, Wife and daughter now home. Cuts and bruises on my wife. Baby suffered whiplash and has bruises where car seat harness digged in, but both ok.

Mother-in-law having to stay in hospital, with fracturered Ribs and breathing difficulties.

It seems to be my Wifes fault...2 cars in front started slowing, so did she, then they stopped suddenly, her ABS kicked in, car would'nt stop in time and she swerved just before coming to a hault, hitting a Ford Galazy (doing about 60mph - the legal speed limit) coming the other way.

Both cars very much write off's. One of the kids in other car seemed quite badly hurt :( , but not critical. Driver of Galazy had huge go at my wife, threatening to hunt her down and kill her, before I arrived.

The Road (major carriageway into City) is still closed, 7 hours later.

:( :( :(

please once your wife is feeling better to perhaps drive again, tell her and tell her again how important it is not to tailgate!

THE AA bloke on the radio the other day said that people think 1 3rd of traffic accidents are caused by drink driving he said its not its caused by tailgating..

My girlfriend does it sometimes and I have to have go at her wouldnt want anyone to have an accident!

hope all are ok mate - anything i can do.

So sorry to hear this. :( I know how I would be if I had a phonecall saying one of my loved ones had been in an accident...absolutely sick to my stomach with worry. Hope everyone involved comes out of it ok.

My thoughts are with you,

Leigh.

Real sorry to hear this bud, hope everyone is OK.

Vijay

Thank God you're family are safe Legrath, That is my worst nightmare scenario. Emotions obviously running high at the moment. Take care and pay no heed to the other drivers words.

sorry to hear mate

Sure i can understand how he feels to be honest mate, Im just glad everyone will be ok.

All my best to your lot and the other cars.

Blimey mate, that's awful. Really sorry to hear about it, and just very glad your wife and daughter are going to be OK, and hopefully everybody else as well. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Sounds like the driver of the Galaxy probably just lost it in the heat of the moment, which is kind of understandable: I wouldn't get too worried about it at this stage, at least everybody came out of it alive.

My thoughts are with you and your family mate, the most important thing is that everyone is alive!

Thanks everyone. Everyone very shaken up and emotional but so glad their still here.

I agree, re: other drivers attitude, which is why I never approached him afterwards, and only wish a speedy recovery for his son.

Blimey Dave, Just seen this!!

I hope all involved have a speedy recovery!!

Sorry mate. I have been in a situation simalar to you and I know its not nice.

I once had to brake hard and wasnt going to make and swerved into the other side of the road. Lucky nothing was coming but I realised after stopping that a truck could have been coming the other way.

Thank god all will be well though mate. Thats the most important

Hope everyone is OK mate.

Sounds like it could have been much worse :(

What a shocker! glad everyone is ok and on the mend. I wish all your family a speedy recovery. Best Wishes GLENN
