After a long chat with the zed centre I think im going to remove my rear spoiler and buy a smooth tailgate skin..

Question 1: My spoiler has the brake (see pic) and fog light built in to it, by saying fog light I mean that if I press the fog light button in my car the brake light will stay on.

Question 2: How do I put a brake light in like the below pic?

that IS a 3rd brake light but its not in a tailgate skin, its in a perspex lens.

you can have the perspex lens with or without a 3rd brake light

But what im getting at is that my 3rd brake light is on the spoiler at the mo...How would I get my 3rd brake light like pic 2 if I bought a perspex lens with light.

you mean as a dual brake/fog light? im no good with electronics but im sure it will be a simple case of diconnecting the old one and plugging the connector into the new one.

You can have a third light in the t/gate skin but you have to do it your self!

hi mate , funkysi dosent have a tailgate skin , he has just had the stock spoiler removed and smoothed and filled and had a rear lense panel added ( available from zcentre) thats all bud.

Thanks Karlos. but how comes he still has that 3rd brake light?

So the perspex panel has a brake light built into it! So when I take my OEM spoiler of there be a place to put the perspex panel brake light into....

you can buy two versions of the perpex panel:

1. without break light, around £35

2. with brake light built in, around £80

and yes its a simple bolt on panel, with a space in the tailgate already there for the break light, you just have to reconnect to the new light

Thanks guys, going to buy a perpex panel with built in brake light....

it really does just bolt straight on bud, you'll see once you have the spoiler off

Cool, so its just a bolt on, then reconect the wire where the old spoiler brake light was and thats it...

yes, but you will have to get a bodyshop to fill the holes left by the old spoiler on the top of the tailgate, then the tailgate will need re-sprayin

Thanks ya5een, I think thats the route im going down...

be carefull taking the old spoiler off, i had some problems getting mine off as there are plastic clips holding it on and they dont give up easy!... and i still havent had the holes filled yet :o the perspex pannel is really easy.. i got one without the light but should be easy peasy to wire up!

Be carefull handling the perspex trim it is quite brittle were the inner backing deos,nt meet :headvswal :headvswal

i tired the nice and simple method of removing my rear spoiler, it didnt work.. so i just grabbed it and ripped the thing off.. it was quite liberating at the time ;)

also one more note you will find that on jap rears you need to make a few more holes as there are some that arent there, but they are on the uk ones.

i will post a link to this shortly.
