ZedTec is the best around here. Nearest place is Swindon though. Or there's Zedworld up in Tamworth.

bit far mate unless I have to, would like somewhere in the somerset/devon area if poss

cheers though

full service for 10000 miles, said it will include everything, so im hoping i get a free massage with that :)

Royal, have you considered Ap motors in Plymouth, think I mentioned them before. Do you know what you want doing as the Nissan dealers dont really do much that you couldn't do yourself quite easily. Change the oil is easy, air and fuel filters likewise, what else? I suppose they just check it over but they really dont have a clue in the nissan dealers when it comes to the Zed. I remember checking in the dealers in Poole before I started playing with it myself and came away thinking it was a complete ripoff. Probably best to do these things yourself and then take it to a specialist Zed place if you want an expert checkover. Dave

Holy Moly! As there are no specialists in Eire I'm taking my z over on the ferry there next month for some work, so "a bit far" to you.....................On decent motorways...........You should count yourself lucky you've got TWO of them within driving distance ;)

fair one guys, not the most clued up when engines are concerned so best take it to someone who knows what they are talking about, think I will have to price up everything at ap motors, cheers royal

mate i just got a 300zx with full nissan history, so last week i decided to be a bigboy and take it to my local nissan garage. wot i realised is that the basic '1' servicing is an oil change and top up of other fluids, the next '2'up changes spark plugs, and the next '3' major service changes air and fuel filters too.

otherwise the more you pay the more they look at is how it goes, cos the guy told me for the '3' major service they check brakes etc... but thats it, they dont change anything.

what i found to my expense was that these guys knew nothing about the zed, so the bulshit service was an oil change only and all for a lousy stamp. even though i havent used a specialist [yet], i advise taking your car to one, as nissan will also put crappy oil into the car (normally elf 5w-40 semi synth) although i supplied my own.

from what i gather the specialists here know there stuff so to avoid big bills in the future go with 1 instead of nissan even though it may be a trip.

It's worth the trip to ztech mate, however if it's just an oil service, can't

you do it yourself? Plugs, filters, oil...about 2hrs work.

I always used magnatec in mine, may have opened a can of worms with that,

but each to their own! ;)

ok cheers guys

If its just a basic service you could take it to any good local garage I am sure. Best to supply your own parts though to prevent them putting rubbish oil and filters etc on it.

whats the best oil to use on the zed?

also what type of filters and where is the best place to find them?

cheers

Would buy your filter from Nissan, About £6 ish. I use either Mobil 1 Motorsport 15-50w or Castrol RS 10-60 W. The Mobil 1 Motorsport you can buy from Halfords, the Castrol is a little harder to get hold of. Both About £35 for 4 litres, you should only need 3.7 litres.

basically i can do all that stuff myself, did all servicing on my old cars, but this d!ick with a skyline r34 gtr at the nissan garage told me hed check it over good and proper etc etc etc. but hes a scam artist. although he did change my oil cheap. hes a cock.

i use castrol rs 10w60 too, 27.99 off an ebay shop, £6 delivery, and if u buy 2 its still £6 delivery.

Nissan Salisbury did my oil and free health check etc.... They put Mobil 1 fully synthetic in. They charged £45 for the oil. I can only just buy it for that myself. they rectified a couple of other things as well. Not the cheapest in the end but ZTech was fully booked for too long and although I thing ZedWorld are fantastic, it's too far for me unless I need something major done.
