How old is your mate????

Speak to IndianZX...he's 19 supposedly and racing Dagenham dustbings round Heathrow in his. ;)

  • Author

he is 20

dont seem to understand the concept of respecting the power that a car can have :(

It's probably got traction control so that'll help.

I saved up and bought a GSX-R1100L when I was 19 (that did 115mph in second gear and would put about 180mph on the clock).

To be honest I'd have learned more about riding and been a better rider if I'd had something smaller.

But I wouldn't listen to anyone - i was young and thought I was big time!

i guess there is only so much u can tell some1

jesus i sound old!!

LOL

I have to tell my friend that, he's young and has a 280bhp Calibra turbo. Seems ok with it, quite mature and understands respect for the vehicle. I've drummed it into his head enough times now. Has a short temper, but he's not done anything silly in it yet though.

I used to be a noob years ago....(needs no response  )

I have never gone fast around corners! thats where things go badly wrong!

Having a quick play on straights is o.k. in the right conditions.

Tell him to search the net for sports cars that have been smashed up.

Tell him to look at regular cars that have been smashed up, how would you feel if you were to cause this with someones family in it?

I drive like a pussy now a days, but I have a quick blast once every so often to know its there (and to make me grin :) )

Tell him to take it to a track day and really drive it, that'll make him realise he's not as good a driver as he thought. Especially after coming off and coming a little too close to the barrier for comfort, Like me!

i have posted a pic of a smashed up zed :( :( :(

hopefully he will realise what can happed

he takes the piss cose i dont drive the zed quick

i dont need to though, its got the power if i need it thats all that counts to me

hopefully he will be the same

Too little experience, too much confidence. Most young drivers thing they are gods gift behind the wheel, until they have a few near miss or an actual accident.

Exactly the same as me. Learnt the hard way about 5 years ago when I lost control on a bend. Didn't injure or involve anyone, but damaged the car quite badly. So only accelerate and have a bit of a play in the dry and on long straight roads.

http://www.wreckedexotics.com has both normal and exotica in various states of distruction.

all i get off people is "how fast does it go" and i say, well its got 180 on the clock but that doesnt mean i go that fast..

i have to be honest the fastest i have gone in my zed is.. 75mph, cos im too scared i will lose it.

also i dont want to lose my license or get any points.

im 35 and never had an accident.. and i dont intend to.

I cant see a problem im young

and a consider myself a sensible driver. :)

;)

I'm sick and tired of young drivers with more confidence than skill and they all seem to say but I haven't had an accident!

I agree with the previous posts, respect the power. I don't even play with mine in the wet. Straight line bursts that's about it for me. If you want to take it to the limit put it on the track or just play XBox and PS2!

i havent took mine above 90mph

i dont need to

i have waited 7 years to get this car

i dont intend on crashing it :)

I have also done a driving course and that opened my eyes. You wouldn't believe how unaware you are when you are driving, it's quite scary what you don't see and the bits of the journey that you have no recollection of.

I do a lot of late night long distance motorway driving so must admit I do 'test it' reguarly, I've got a whole new outlook now after the trackday. All you have to do to go fast in a straight line is put your foot down, I love the feeling, but its not driving skill.

Me too!

Your right there m8, after the course (every sunday morning) I had a fag on the way home, every week I thought I should'nt be doing this as its taking my attention away from driving.

p.s. having a fag is not getting up close behind someones bum hole!

I had my zed at 20 and was fine, i'm 24 in a few months, if you drive like a tit in a powerful car you will eventually lose it and crash the thing, a greater age doesnt always mean you are more mature.

I havn't had it above 158mph :D

having had a very shady past and been in very powerful cars from age 14 i can safely say the younger you are the more risks you take but just because you are young doesnt mean you cant drive at speed and well you learn fast but no m atter how good you are you can never counter for others around you and their actions you could be blatting down the east lancs at 170mph plus and all it takes is someone pulling into your lane or making a bid across the lights and its game over for you............you take your risks when you put your foot down and eventually your card is marked and it will be game over make no doubts about it
