How long does it take for 3 points to clear, some say 3 some say 4 some say 6 yrs? Will the original counterpart be sent to my address or do I have to apply for it?

Also I have 3 points on my licence but cant find the damn thing anywhere. My insurance company have asked me for a copy of the licence following a write off - can i send an OLD photocopy of my licence before the points were put on or will i be shafted?

It'll not change your premium now, only on renewal.

My renewal is in 2 weeks.

Tell them...as some have said, it's 3 or 4 years. So I'd just tell them you have no points. Saying that, they should have their own record as when you declare your endorsements, you'll usually supply with with a code and date of the offence. So should automatically be removed as and when their time frame stipulates.

Exactly, although if anyone is stupid enough to get done for a drink-related offence the points remain on your licence for 10 years :smash:
