Think I'm going to have to admit defeat and go into hospital. For those that don't know, I've got Crohns pretty badly and am sat here able to type, pain free for the first time today (Morphine patch and Pethidine'd up to the hilt...thank you Mr Controlled drugs manufacturer) but knowing it's only going to last 2-3 hours before it all comes back. I HATE going into fVcking hospital (I miss being on here for a start, Lol!). Would've gone in on Friday but with the weekend looming it's the last place I wanted to be...I call it the Deadzone...skeleton staff, a cast iron guarantee that nothing will be done till Monday and junior doctors that our more likely to fVck things up than help. Really hope I don't have to have another op. Racked up 10 to date and there isn't much left in me to remove TBH! Really need a break from the pain as there's only so much I can manage here at home...could do the injections and set up the IV drip myself but they get a bit funny about the DIY approach! It's been a 17 year struggle with this and I'm just tired and had enough of it all at the moment..sorry for offloading on here folks, I'm usually remorselessly optimistic about things!

Difficult to keep your head up I know. But need to keep a sound state of mind as you'll find that affects your physical well beeing.

I've had a very rough past 3 years, not in the slighest bit comparable to you, but PMA was the key for me.....nearly gave up at times.

Good luck cap.

All the best for today Leigh, let us know how you get on.

Rich

Hi Leigh sorry to hear your feeling Shit again mate, but I hope all these possitive vibes are having some good affect.

Until you told me about Crohns last year I'd never heard of it and now I know 2 people who suffer from it although Leon's Dad said Leon has been cured? Can they not sort yours for good too?

I hope they can mate. Anyway if it makes you too ill to drive I'll come and give your V8 beasty a regular thrashing for ya :slap:  anything to help

Keep your pecker up mate and don't let it grind you down.

Good luck today buddy, let us know how you get on. We're all rooting for ya :D

Thanks guys. Just packed and off in 5.

There isn't a cure but some people have it quite mild Mark which means that with luck and the right meds they can sometimes go into more or less permanent remission...unfortunately it isn't the case with me. But hey, I'll be in the right place for them to sort me out soon. Just wish the nurses (and the uniforms) were more like the Carry On films...the reality is I'll be looked after by a sucession of two ton Bertha's! ;)

Thanks again guys, it really means a lot. I'll speak to you all again soon (and I think Lucie might be on here to give an update at some point)

Evenin all! I'm currently in bed in the hospital, pumped full of pain killers, typing this on the smallest, most annoying keyboard I've ever used on possibly the slowest and most unreliable connection in the world...but I'm back! Its thankfully looking less likely that they're going to open me up but I think I'm going to be kept in till at least the start of next week. And Sweet Jesus and all the little orphans...I was only half joking about the poor quality of nurses...the reality is so much worse it's scary! Lol! ;)

1 Tonne Berthas?

Good luck. Hope you're out soon.

Good to see yer still alive bud! LOL

What hossy are you in, if i can i might come and bug you for an hour or so! :D If thats OK of course.

Rich

Blimey Leigh, I totally missed this. An old workmate at my last place quit work because he had it, and I'd never heard of it. You must have a brave face on a lot, big respect.

Chin up mate, hope all goes well :)

Hey chunkster don't take him grapes and definitely no pies NNNNNOOOOOOOO

Now Leigh thats something to look forward to. Chunkster doing slam dives on the bottom of ya bed and you being catapulted across the ward :nono:

Remember to throw a few matresses or well padded nurses on the floor firts though mate.

Good news anyway that an op isn't required, but if your like me then the prospect of a week in hospital isn't something to cherrish. If you are having open house on visiters to detract you from the usual Hospital teedium. Then where are you, because I'm running my car in and any excuse to put some miles on.

PS I still want to see if you have made a car worthy of my front bumper. John says it looks a crazy machine (crazy being used as a possertive)

Err I think? :D

Hope it's all going well mate. At least you've got 'pill googles' on for looking at the nurses! Dave

Bugger. Just typed a long post and the damn system crashed. I wouldn't mind but it took me 20 mins to type it using the almost unusable keyboard on the TV/internet thing attached to the bed. Christ, I'm surrounded by more electronic equipment than Steven ruddy Hawking! :D

Cheers guys, yep anyones more than welcome to stop by and visit me here on Ward 12! I'll ask Lucie to post a contact email in case anyone wants to shoot over :)

Being used as a guinea pig today or tomorrow! Heartlands hospital has just had a new type of MRI scanner installed and apparently the techs are itching to get their hands on a patient with bowel disease to try it out...step forward muggins here! :D

Mark, I can't wait to show you and everyone else the car when she's finished. Not so much crazy, more utterly batsh1t mad...but in a very, very good way! The custom work Steve's doing on it just amazes me...never thought I'd see my original designs become reality! Just need to get out of here to see her again!
