Right as some of you know I am only running 0.5bar of boost...!! And its starting to piss me off

Here goes this is what I have done so far.

Have had it on ConZult at Ryans to see if there any sensors are not working eg det sensors all was OK.

So now I thinking boost leak or Ryan said weak acctuators ..

So I have made a boost leak tester at work today plus I got a resistor to bypass the the det sensor (just in case it not working.). I trid the resistor on the way home and still 0.5bar... :smash:

So been out there tonight with a big track bike pump, been pump away for about 10-15mins (neighbours look at me a bit funny. ) now i cannot get any pressure in the system..!!!

I am now getting a wee bit pissed of I think I am going to give up..!!

But here goes I think it mit be a split in one of the intercoolers or can it be the acctuators stuck open a bit..

Any ideas

Jay

Have you checked the the actuator plugs are connected? Noticed on another members car that one had been disconnected. if the car prev had a boost controller then they would have been disconnected if somebody took it out when they sold the car they might not have reconnectd them.

Just a guess.

half a bar is near enough safety boost but youve ruled that out

i had the inverse problem a few months ago as i was spiking at 19psi  and it was suggested to me that the wastegate actuator(s) were stuck closed. its a possibility that youve got the opposite problem.

theres not a boost controller hidden away somewhere in your car?

or a crappy manual boost controller (ive no idea how these work)

just trying to throw some ideas at you

I think she did have one before I got the car I have a look tomorrow I guess I have to get under the engine and have a look up by the turbos.

I have a look and see if any manual boost controller I don't think there is but I have a look agian..

nope they are top end of engine nesr the susp strut area (on side of engine) brown and black plugs) the driver side one is sometimes a bugger to get to down by the PCV's

Dont want to sound pessamistic, but it couldnt be one siezed turbo could it?

That would half the boost would it not?

Really hope it isnt though mate.

On the plus side it looks like your making about 120bhp on the graph, should be more than plenty for you southern softies!!!

Shut it shortly ;)

I hope not too.. I think what ryan said weak wastegate actuator(s) is the problem..

I have one more look if no luck. I save a bit more money up and get it sorted..

Is Jay 300zx still about ?

I've got exactly the same problem and was wondering whether you got to the bottom of your problem.

Seeing as someone has revived this VERY old thread,

Dave - what was causing your spiking back then? was it wastegate/actuator related?

Cheers...

best bet is to buy some selicone hose and repipe from waste gate to boost pipes and see what boost u get then, which also will elliminate the safety boost solenoids which can seize up open or closed

i've just replaced some of my hoses i.e vacum pipes and it actually runs a bit better and gettin slightly more boost, which is always good :D :hyper:
