Should I fork out my hard earned cash and get a respray (currently white) and put on a carbon fibre bonnet?

pmsl, I`ll agree with that :)

If you get a carbon fibre bonnet then spray it body colour....personally, unless you're stripping the car for track days or 1/4 mile runs, then I'd steer clear. Just a chavy mod as the above have already said. :)

Respray yes carbon bonnet as i said before get a tinge of the coulour you will spray the car into some clearcoat and give the C.F. bonnet a blow over it will then blend in and look sweet

499 go on me beuty

mmmmm cf bonnet, and spray the edges body colour

My own opinion...leave the CF bonnet but still get the respray ;)

Me too dont like carbon bonnets and never will!

However if you like em then buy one ;)

I like carbon fibre vented bonnets, but each to their own.

The purpose for CF bonnets is to save weight.

It will save a lot of weight on a normal car but with the Z it will probably not even save you 1lb. So you are spending £500 or so on a part which has no performance value and will probably keep in the heat more, as the stock aluminium one works like a heat sink.

The CF Bonnet and Chav's is putting me off slightly but I like the thought of a different colour bonnet.

I've had a quote for £1500 for respray, slight mod to front spoiler and shuts and sills. Oh that's a pearl paint. Waiting for another rough quote from another company.

  • 2 weeks later...

Once you have paid for the venting of a bonnet and then the respray you may as well just get a CF one like speedemon posted.

Its true there isnt really much in the weight but they will vent and cool more than a standard one if it has the vents init in the correct position and not just where it looks pretty....yet again..the one speedemon posted is designed to vent and not just to look pretty...lol

I am now moving away from the CF Bonnet but may be thinking of a new front and rear bumper. All being well I shall visit Bodywork Plus tomorrow!
