Frenchi again :D

my question is simple:

To boost up their car, many people use electronic boost controller, but will it work with a manual one?

If I join both hose from wastegate (like for an electronic boost controller) and instead of the solenoide, I put a manual boost controller ( a tap), will it work or not?

Will it be safe (of course I have an aftermarket boost gauge)?

Thank you :)

There is a manual boost controller on e-bay at the mo looks pretty good uses fine thread type and better quality but i reccommend you get something like an sbc id 3 (blitz)

The big advantage of a manual boost controller is that it's very cheap and I already have one!!

My car is a Twin Turbo.

So it should be ok for you?

so simple its overlooked but all your doing is restricting the air the same job as boost jets but with the added luxury of being adjustable

iff bruinel or some other victorian brainbox invented a boost controller this would of been the item :smash: :smash:

I don't really understand what you mean, sorry (I'm French)

Is that mean i can do it or not?

thats just a bleed valve then, its not a controller, it cant measure the output of the turbo and use the feedback to keep the boost pressure stable. bleed valves/boost jets cause boost spikes. and wont work as well as a controller.

but it will work. wouldnt recommend it tho

i understand this fact but ive run boost jets (aka mig tips) in all my zeds and never had boost spikes,ya gorra keep it under 16-18 psi plus ive still got det sensor enabled unlike controllers with the added bonus of £2.00 for14psi

So if I want to run 14 psi, what size of boost jet do I need?

usually 1mm, but it varies between cars. Try 1mm first, if boost is then too high, try a slightly larger size..and the opposite if boost is too low.

i dont understand, how can increasing the bleed lower the boost? i take it they aren't plumbed in the same as a bleed valve thats T'd into the actuator

the smaller the hole the longer the boost signal takes to get down to the actuator and visa versa

Finally I did it but I can't get more than 0.8 bar !!!

Do I need to disconnect the original boost controller??

Thank you
