Got me new gauges today :hyper:

oil pressure

water temp

turbo boost

Just a few questions

I want to keep my stock gauges also, so, where do I fit the temp sender and oil pressure sender ?

I guess the boost gauge just T's of the stock boost pipe under the bonnet

advise appreciated

Cheers

Paul

I've got an adapter plate to go under the sump and above the filter that takes the sensors (don't get an ac autotec one by the way, they don't fit).

Sorry, don't mean to sound fick (maybe I am) but what is one of those and where do I get one ? do you have pictures ?

and what about temp ?

Its a metal adapter that goes as described for the sensors to screw into. That will do oil pressure and oil temp, Chris Greddy does them (about £60ish iirc), but phone him to make sure they are actually in stock. Coolant temp sensor goes in the top front pipe next to the oem one. You can buy adapters for these as well, cant remember price ask Chris if you speak to him. You can fit them blue peter styley but these bits make it a lot easier and less hassle.

So basically what you are saying is I need an 'adaptor plate' for both my oil pressure and water temp so I can also keep the stock gauges,

Or you can get a metal top rad pipe from Smithy with the adapter plate in it. Solves two problems that way - you get to keep the OEM gauge working and you replace the rad pipe which could be starting to split.

Having said all that, I already have an after market water temp gauge and oil pressure gauge (crap though), so, in theory, there should be both a temp sender and oil pressure sender, somewhere. So all I need to do is find them and replace them, is that correct people ?

You can tee off the driver side, rear of the plenum, the vacuum tubes that come off of the balance bar if I remember rightly. Anyway that is measuring the pressure in the plenum does the job. If you do a search either here or on twinturbo.net you'll find an FAQ for it as its a common question.
