I am about to purchase a custom decat exhaust. Does anyone know if the new system requires any restrictors?

why would you want to put in a restriction in your exhaust? :confused:

 

most people go to great lengths to remove them!!!

 

if your worried about the noise you could have some silencers fitted, otherwise enjoy the sound :D

having no back pressure in the exhaust will quickly knacker the turbo seal

enjoy but at a price .....there are better ways of getting an extra 25 BHP

With regard to zero back pressure causing turbo seal problems there was a survey some months ago, results were no it does not. IIRC.

 

And if you look at a turbo seal, what its made of and where it sits I cant see why it would anyway.

Agree. If your seals are about to fail, the decat will speed up the failure, otherwise no problems.

Cool, anyone heard of Stealth Sysytems in Southampton. I have heard good and bad and now need further opinions before I let them near my Z.

Not heard of stealth mate, am in bognor regis & i went to Longlife in Carshalton in Surrey. Very helpful, I went for one can either side in a Blitz Impreza stylee just over 4" can. look v. :bow: cool & sounds like a tuned skyline very loud when you put your foot down although you can specify exhaust tone if yopu want to be a bit more subtle!!
