Help required from a fellow Zedder(s) in and around Slough/Berks please.

Hi gang.

Right, this weekend, I am going to go and have a look and a test drive on a Zed which I've put a small holding deposit on at a Jap dealership in Slough.

Reason I've put a holding deposit on it? Well, it's a very low mileage import (rated grade4) so should really be a very good example. It's manual and is TT. So is exactly what I am looking for.

Well, I am pretty technically minded and a fairly competent self taught mechanic, but I don't really have a clue what I'm looking for with a zed. I have printed out a copy of the fact sheet thing on the site, but really would like a zedder along with me as a second opinion. 4 eyes are better than 2 and someone with good knowledge would really be of great benefit.

So, I'm going to have a look at this car on Saturday. If anyone's available, please could they let me know. I'll collect you and drop you off, so no expense will be incurred.

Thanks in advance.

Si

mrogers, thanks anyway. :)

Gio, address is... 42 Lake Avenue. I don't know Slough at all.

It's not Leigh's gaff is it?

Anyhow - not sure what I'm doing on Saturday.. the folks mooted something about coming up, in which case I'll be tied up.. if not, I don't mind giving it a once over - just as long as you don't blame me if it blows up after 5 minutes ;)

Oh and btw - Lake Avenue is just off the A355, looks like it should be a piece of cake to find.

Yeah 'Lee' is his name, seems like a nice chap, you know him? LOL...it'll be covered if it's blown up!!

That would be great if you could spare 30mins though. :)

Hi mate,

If it's "Leigh" (rather than Lee) then he is a trader on here and a damn nice bloke.

Met him at the Royal Oak ZX meets on more than one occasion, so I can vouch for him.

I'm only 6 or so miles from Sluff so if you need someone to come with you Saturday let me know.

Richard :smw:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Different guys - Leigh is http://www.japcityltd.co.uk/ and a Trader member here from way back.

map is here thanks be to maps.google.co.uk

It might have had a respray (where's the standard charcoal infill on the front bumper?)

Also, the standard spoiler is missing (or was that a J option? - I thought they all came with spoilers unless NA?)

If you're going over about 11.30 or 12 or so, I could join in with the other peeps (might be quite fun :D )

Loads of 300's have the centre panel sprayed. I may end up changing it back. Maybe the tailgate is been resprayed too because of the sponge like spoiler/rot syndrome. It's certified a grade 4 with low milage, so can't be that poor. The garage have said that they provide details of what grade it is.

Comes with a Vielside exhaust which I gather are rather pricey.

Be nice if you were there, the more there the better. :)
