Just had the beast out for first proper run since i got her,

there seemed to be loadsa heat in the engine bay tho.

Temp gauge sat safely in the middle of the gauge, so is

it just that the heat finds it hard to escape due to the cramped

layout of the engine bay or what???

But on a better note, that was the first real run I've had in a Zed

and boy, what a machine, it was great to see peoples expressions in traffic lol

cheers

engine bay gets pretty hot mate, as does underneath the car (you actually get shimmering when you look underneath  )

not surprised you turned a few heads mate - look at the colour of that thing

Everyone Recommends To Fit An Aftermarket Temp Guage As The Stock One Is Pants ..especially On The Turbo'd Motor

they do seem to get bloody hot, so much stuff crammed in such a small space, im thinking of fitting a vented bonnet on mine.

Rem and leave the motor on idle after a blast to let the turbos cool down .. Mine ticks and stuff for ages after a hammering :)

Main cause of all the wiring problems that Zeds tend to have. Looms get cooked over the years. Shame really as I reckon its popularity would be up with the skylines and the like if it lasted better.

Must say though my new one with 99spec front runs a lot cooler than my standard 1990 one did. Although that might be because the old one was quietly cooking the pistons with too much boost!!

The temp gauge is meant to stay in the middle. That is perfect temperature. You can have an engine which is too cold as well as too hot.

yer but the actual reliability of the stock guage must be questioned as the z is renouned for bad temp guages...

i was sat on the motorway for 1.5 hours in 28+heat and my temp guage didnt even budge!!!

seriously recommend aftermarket guage im going to get one as i dont wanna cook my car!!

mine has started to make a bubbling and hissing noise, with steam coming from the back of the engine after a good blatt. no idea what or why yet

there are water hoses going round the back of the engine T-Pot, best check tey arnt perishing, as youl not like the result, cought mone by accident and got em sorted before they went pop.

mind you now i have a high pitched whisle since i got the pcv and injectors changed.

yeah im after an aftermarket temp gauge too.

oh, and... "how much is that dog-gie in the window. woof woof"

They certainly do generate a lot of heat - that's normal.

After a long run, when I park in the garage it feels like a furnace in there ;)

Love that purple Bandit

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
