I haven't a clue what it is but there seems to be a nice pool of something under the car where the driver side is. One thing I do know is that I have to keep topping up my brake fluid as it keeps disappearing somewhere! Could it be that?

Looks like something is broken under there and that something is leading to the back of the car. Any help would be nice, I'll try get some pictures of it sometime, just my friends nicked my camera for the weekend as I can't make it to JAE!

Can't really shed much light matey but good luck getting it fixed. I've got at least 1 coolant leak somewhere and I'm bu99ered if I can find exactly where it is!

Should get that sorted, it'll be more hassel if you go dry and have to bleed the brakes and all that malarky. Get some photos of it on. Have you got the workshop manual?

I haven't even started going anywhere near the coolant yet! Will do that after I get a few other things sorted first as the car isnt on the road just yet anyhow.

I had the workshop manual somewhere on my machine. For some strange reason I can't find it but I've taken a look at the manual and it does seem like the brake lines are the one that is broken, unless there's another line that goes from front to back!

Got my friend at JAE to go over to the 300zx stand (that's gonna take him a while to walk there! 200sx owner) and ask one of them lot to make sure.

It could be the power steering pipes..I had oil pissing out of mine but got onto it this morning with a spanner and no more leak..does the power steer work ok? noises?

Check your power steer fluid and wipe everything clean with rags and wait to see where it comes from

If you're always topping up the brake fluid then I guess it's your master cylinder.

They are a known problem on the Z32 - later cars had a different type IIRC which stopped them going bad.

If you need a new part, get in touch with Mike Feeney - MJP in traders section.

I suffer the same problem only leaks when i dont drive it i need to get this done :(

is this right? in my experience you just have no resistance on the brake pedal when the master cylinder goes down, so no brakes! but never come across one leaking excessivly, causing puddles?

would of thought it more likely to be a flexi hose, bleed nipple, or caliper leak, pumping the pedal whilst someone looks under the car should find the prob if it leaking that bad!

Your friend spoke to me and Paul C on the stand yesterday. It you keep having to top up your brake fluid then I think you can safely assume that it's brake fluid leaking out the bottom. You'll have to get the car jacked up and take a look underneath to see where it's coming from. It's should be pretty obvious if it's that much. It could well be one of the solid pipes that's rusted through, in which case you'l need to replace the whole length, and probably others too for a) safety, b) MOT.

Mine is more a slow leak. It takes quite a while before it ends up ridding itself of the extra brake fluid I shoved in, but I still have resistance on the brake pedal and no warning light that stays on when brake fluid is low.

I can actually see some sort of hole where the brake lines are suppose to be and from what i can tell it's covered up to protect it I'm guessing, but that protective cover is broken and it's covered in oil. From what I've been able to gather I'm guessing I might as well get the whole line all replaced, right now the car is still off the road as I'm doing a few upgrades to it before I put it on the road so just trying to get rid of each problem as I find them!

But thanks for the help though! :hyper:
