How much is this car worth - for sale and rare one owner

Featured Replies

C'mon fellas - he's only looking for an approx valuation and it's not even his :slap: One thing however, it can't be a UK car if it's silver and therefore he can't be the first owner either

If its not his, why is he asking for sensible offers??????

oohh, thats the second time I've been told off for flippant comments. I'm a very friendly chappy too. Sounds sexy though. Oil every 2k? thats keen, how often do you do yours? That would be every month or two for me! Says it has total history, maybe its had a respray or something. Dont think I've really seen one for any more than 5k or so mind even in spankers nick. Not exactly highly priced at the moment.

Dave

nowt wrong with changing the oil every 2k miles i do,besides depends how you drive it ;)

get some pics of it first its all good saying its this that and so on,probably about 5k its worth what someojne will pay at the end of the day

....

I smell a rat sorry

85 yr old men dont normally drive a car that a 21 yr old struggles to bloody get in and out of.

had it from new, yet your mate bought his old car ?

maybe im wrong, and if so i appoligise

maybe an idea to post a contact number for the actual owner of the car, if anyone is interested, they can speak direct, instead of having to ask you, then wait for you to get answers ?

sounds a bit suss to me too. It just doesn't add up, a 70 year old buying a new Z in silver which was not available in silver in the UK(that doesn't make sense either).

I'm 35 and not in bad shape, but the low seating can be a bit of stress on my back sometimes. If it's for real, he must be a hell of a guy and owned some motors in his time! And someones going to get one sweet Zed ;)

I think you should subscribe to the forum, as there are a lot of dishonest people out here who try to sell stuff on this forum and as you have only ever posted 2 posts and they are to do with selling this car, then everybody is going to think you are just trying to use this forum as a free way to advertise! If you search the posts you will find out 3 important things:

1) There are a lot of subscribed members which only trust subscribed members.

2) There are a few of us who have been conned by registered users.

3) In order for us to trust you, you need to have been a suscribed user who has posted a number of posts helping and advising others as well as introducing yourself first.

Sorry to drone on a bit, I have been on the :duffer: :duffer: most of the day ;) Good Luck with selling the car ;)

Interesting post from T - Pot - says it all really - anyway - 85 year old man - seriously ill - do you think the most important thing in his life is selling his car?! - he wants a fair price and no agro - he was 70 when he bought it - is very wealthy and has always had sports cars which he has kept - hence the last one my freind bought 15 years ago - these are decent people - my friend who bought the E type has a collection of over 30 cars including a tank and speaks highly of the condition of the E Type he bought - thank you to those who where helpful and informative - and those who just want to pick and take the micky - better spend your time more constructively - any serious potential buyers please get in touch and I will endeavour to answer your questions.

How about some photos then? Maybe a photo of you old friend too. :D

So basically, anyone wishing to purchase this car, will not be able to speak to its right full owner ???

good luck dude, you gonna need it i believe

Thought there were rules ref: selling cars on the forum...:nono::nono: or am i just being picky......

And just to say my father in law is neally 70 :x: and he got 7 classic cars, 1 he has had since new 195? Morgan.... so dont go by age guys....

If he's so wealthy, why can he (or you) not afford 20 quid fee, and put it in the for sale section where it probably would've sold an hour ago? An autotrader ad costs more than that :D

Only subscribed (ie paid up) members can sell cars on this forum.

Thats the club rule that we voted for.

This is a "FOR SALE" advert trying to disguise itself as a request for a valuation!

Thats not permitted.

So this thread needs to be moderated.

Excuse my suspicious nature, I've been caught out in the past and feel its the best way to be. If this car is genuine and ONLY advertised here, it seems only fair that it would be a good gesture to sign up to the club. I'm sure that a genuine good car as you describe would have no trouble selling on here, its the first place people come if they want a good one. A quick recent history search will show many people enquiring about good Zeds. Therefore cheap advertising for you that can stay as long as it needs to sell the car, not just a week in autotrader for the same price. That way people wont be immediately suspicious of you and picking holes in the sale as they are now. I've only been signed up on here a month and have already seen the same thing happen many times.

Dave

Its not just a case of being fair Dave , its a RULE now.

NO SELLING BY UNSUBSCRIBED MEMBERS..

Fair one SlickPete, wasnt' sure if it was a rule or not but completely agree with it.

No offence or subterfuge has been intended - this is a completely genuine post.

prices are crap on zeds, if yours is as you say, then your looking at top whack, but even that aint gonna be much guessing 6k imho

Thats good if you are going to subscribe, then you could post some pictures of the car and your friend the elderly gentleman could be safe in the knowledge that the car would be seen by lots of potential buyers who do care about their cars and that it would give many more years of driving pleasure. You would have plenty of time to sell the car without having to constantly pay for adverts. :)
