You have got a week to go down your local cop shop hand in all your docs insurance certificate and mot certificate. As for your points you have to send off both parts of your licence to the address on the ticket and they will either write your points on or type them on. Welcome to the points club mate.

oh no im 20 right now about to get about to get a zed for my 21st in sept and this? costing me an extra 300 for my insurance.

If you park on the zig-zags approaching a Zebra crossing then you are now liable for 3 points as well as the fine mate.

Go for a cuppa with the coppa's mate pronto. These these get worse with time. ps welcome to the club. I got another 3 while on the way to get my reg docs to get tax. Got stung with 60 quid ,now dvla have fined me 51 quid too! w**kers

as iam in the nth east and drive a delivey van all day and run a fleet of 5 other vans me and my other drivers park anywere we want and have never had points or tickets yet :bow: when iam on my rounds ive got to know all the traffic wardens by name now and are very nice up here if you dont take the p**s when parking and move as fast as poss !!!

even the cops are not to bad around my area. :bow:

p.s. grimsby is even the luckyest place in england for the lottory we have had the most since it started and the next town down the road has had 3 wins this year :bow:

What you should have done is produced your D/L, insurance and MOT at police station within 7 days of having ticket. They would then seize your D/L and fill in a receipt from the endorsable fixed penalty and that would count as your D/L until your original came back with points endorsed on it.

However you can't find your D/L. Get yourself down there with insurance and MOT and they should still record your details on a HO/RT2 form but they will report you for failing to produce your documents and not having a D/L. Sounds bad, also I would try and speak to the police officer involved and explain to them, don't hold your breath but they are not all the same.

With regards to not producing / surrending D/L - the police will check with DVLA regarding your licence.

I would say though you may well be summsonsed to court. This would be for failing to produce documents and the original offence of stopping on zig-zag (Stopping in pedestrian controlled zone) and the £60 fine will probably go up 50% and court costs.

My advice is reapply for a D/L asap and then you may have it for court where you can surrender it there and explain your circumstances.

A couple of questions, did the police officer say YOU WILL BE REPORTED FOR THE CONSIDERATION OF THE QUESTION OF PROESCUTING YOU FOR STOPPING ON ZIGZAGS and YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SAY ANYTHING BUT IT MAY HARM YOUR DEFENCE IF YOU DO NOT MENTION WHEN QUESTIONED SOMETHING WHICH YOU RELY ON IN COURT, ANYTHING YOU DO SAY MAY BE GIVEN IN EVIDENCE or words to that effect?

How many police officers were there?

Finally if they did not NIP and CAUTION you (the capitals above) then it wouldn't have been lawful but they have still probably got it in the pocket note books and statements. If there was only one officer it would be worth arguing with the help of a solicitor but if there were two then I would say I know who the magistrates are likely to believe.
