We are going to get sick to death of speaking to foreigners on the phone no racism but its mainly packistanis' sounding like robots

If you look deeper than just call centres.... like the N.H.S. how many people have had to go to A+E lately, i had to take my boy to chelt general hospital a couple of months ago and i am not kidding when i say i only dealt with 2 english nurses the other 7 people were not english (malaisian, italian, dutch,etc.) and speaking to my mate in the council he says that 30% of the new workforce are foreign and hardly speak a word of english... he is worried because he cannot get the health and safety issues through to them. Some of these guys are driving 7 ton lorries... thats fookin askin for trouble. On top of it all just how many imigrants are there in the U.K dummy blair doesnt quite know does he??? watch out Great Britain is fast becoming Mixed Britain.

I think we should all start talking in a different language, pleadin poverty and sittin back and let the money roll in.... caus if you are a citizen you dont get sh*t except a bill for the workin families tax credit THEY decide you wrer overpaid RANT NOT OVER till i get out of this overpriced, underachieving, wont stand up for ourselves, expensive petrolled country :mad: :mad: :headvswal i am not putting foreign nurses or doctors down but why dont they pay our nurses better wages then we could help our own country not everyone elses

plus britain used to be known as a nation that didn't like to complain, now everyone just seems to whinge about everything, my girlfreind works in call centre and people make her life hell, she has had death threats, people swear at her daily, the management make her life hell because she actually spends more than 6 minutes sorting people problems out, they are put on report if they don't make sales statistics (bare in mind her job is not in sales it is 1st line support). I wish they would move her job to india then she can get on with finding a new one. People make call centre operatives lives hell, its rated as one of the highest stressed jobs in the UK i believe and the pay is shit.

 

If i have a problem with an Indian call centre not speaking good english, I will just hang up and dial through again until I get someone with a reasonable level of english.

Very true and this stems from employers wanting people to work for minimum wage or just above, where i work as many full time employees are being intimidated into leaving and being replaced with temps and foreign agency workers. this saves the company holiday pay, sick pay, redundancy pay etc etc. Unions fought for years to get people these basic rights and now they are being taken away from us again.

Everyone used to slag off companys like Nike for using child slave labour in poorer countries, well this is only one step up from it.

I dont think people make enought noise in this country other countries wouldnt stand for this shit!!

Mind you i went ape at a call centre employee who could not speak english and then went on a rant about call centers in India, turns out i called Bradford so i looked like a twat.

I actually called Three and everytime I got a foreign call centre and found there English is limited and the understanding worse, the amount of times I had to repeat myself was ridiculous. I subsequently terminated my monthly mobile phone contract with them and gave them that reason in an email. They didn't really give an explanation, ie it saves us money and we can still continue to charge the same for services but we all know that is the truth.

I've worked in the software business for far too many years. Loads of company's farmed out the work to India and then Egypt when they undercut them and now it's China.

 

I have to agree that they are skilled coders, but shite developers - a BIG difference. All these companies now employee teams of people to test the software they get from abroad. Guess what - testers get paid a damned sight more than developers (no idea why, that's just the way it is) and so the company ends up spending more on IT than they did before.

 

RBoS were one of the first to outsource and they're one of the first to turn it around now and 'in-source' most of their IT.

 

It just hacks me off, because it still makes life difficult for me to find work. Blair wants us to be a more flexible workforce. OK - I work away from home Monday to Friday, pay council tax in three areas (don't ask), and the bugger still tries to shaft me for every penny as though I'm a scummy tax dodger. Git.

Was speaking to an English bloke on Elephant.co.uk for insuring my new zed. They'd lost my quote that I'd saved on the system. He said he'd mark the account and put me through to sales to get temporary cover and then get back to me the next day. He put me through to an Indian call center who didnt have a clue what I was on about and kept reading from prepared lines, took me 30mins to get a months temp cover. Nobody called me the next day so I called them and told them the account was marked with details, it wasn't and the bloke had only given me his first name.

So....I went through the process of explaining again. The guy was most helpful and said he would get straight onto the it blokes re the lost quote and phone me straight back..........that was a week ago....f**********************ck!!!
