I have a leak from a short black hose 1cm wide on the drivers side of the engine on the side of the block situated under the Brake servo almost. Its about 5" long - just secured with spring clips - bugger to get to...

Any ideas what this pipe is/does guys?

No its on the side of the engine block - I have changed the rear heater inlet and outlet previously - I can now actually see water coming out of this water pipe - something I consider progress

It looks like I may have to remove the brake servo to get to it!

I made one up from a piece of fuel line - it's the same dimensions - £4.99 from Halfrauds (inc clips) I used the screw clips supplied with the fuel hose cos getting to/removing/replacing the spring clips was a bitch!! Arranging the screw clips so that I could access via a 14" screwdriver was a peach in comparison!

My pipe was fractured. Now all I have to do is replacxe the Heater MAtrix!!!!

Anyone have a heater matrix for sale?

I have just had the same hose go on me. It is held on with a stupid spring clip and the car overheated in traffic last week. Because the spring clip weakens, the pressure forces the cooland out through the clip..hence over heating. You should get it fixed as the hose itself finally went on me yesterday...pissing coolant everywhere.

To get to it you have to unbolt the front part of the exhaust, the decat housing and then reach up and replace the hose...

It's a b@stard...

It does sound like the same one, did mine months ago and did chunks weeks ago.

Its ok if you got small hands like me, bit fiddly takes about an hour, the brake master doesnt need to come off.

I've got an n/a and a small pipe right at the back of the engine going vertically down towards the matrix pipes has just split on me and p*ssed water everywhere. Looks like it's gonna be a right pain to get to as I can't even see the other end of it! Is taking the front of the exhaust off the only way??

Chris.

All those hoses are b***ards. I had my coolant hose from the passanger turbo go. Had to get my inspector gadget arms on to reach it. ps also managed to undo most of the auto gearbox bolts from the top behind the engine. How's that for nails?! (stupid?).
