are the head bolts ina TT z reusable or are they streatch bolts! thanx.. ive been told that the standard bolts are non streatch! is ther correct! :confused:

I dont think any head bolt is designed to stretch.

 

It is better to replace them but you can reuse them I did.

no its fine to re use headbolts unless there damaged in anyway its fine just replace bolts in order and torque settings :cool:

Hell, you're an early riser greg! kept up by the thunder and lightning as well?

I re-used my headbolts (apart from the one I had to drill out! took 2 days and 3 drill bits :nana2: ) They arn't stretch bolts. Worth re-tourqeing (sp?) them once you've worn them in.

Some are, like certain Citroen ones, pretty sure Zeds are not that type though - it'd be mentioned in the manual if they were.

IMO i would always, and have always replaced the head bolts when rebuilding, or taking the head off the CA18DET. It's not that big a cost for piece of mind, as can you tell by looking if there is a fault on one of the bolts you are reusing ????
