What's a good price on a respray?

It's black so aparantly more difficult to spray, there are a few nicks and dents in places, fibre glass wings already fitted, no spoiler (already removed) but back to metal, replaceing all trims which are supplied, fitting and spraying vented nose cone, and removing that bumpy stuff on the bumpers and side skirts.

I'ts in the garage at the moment just curious what you guys think, i've explained i basicly want it looking showroom condition.

Result well that's good news, I've got him down to £900

but most of the prep has already been done by my mechanic, so prob would of been about the same.

just had a quote for my zed from a guy in scarborough (called radbodystyling), he does alot of work for the toyota club (recently had one of the cars he sprayed featured in japanese performance, looked good!).

ive seen loads of people in scarborough who have had there cars done by him to look like fast and furious cars, with dragons etc down side of them.

anyway, he quoted £600 for a full respray on my car!!!!!!!!!!!! that includes sorting out the rust on back quarter and also spraying inners of door seals

i can get you his number if you are interested.

gaz!

Damn, now that is good price but unfortianatly i have no time left i need it back by the end of the week or begining of next pushing it big time.

Thanks though.

Its a lot of work to be done properly bud in that short time, mine took nearly 2 months, could be the difference between a quick bodge job or a quality long lasting finish.

i recently spent 2k on new vented bonnet front nosecone, also had wings repainted nisstek carried out work unfortunatly the sprayer done a shit job ,only go on reputation and seeing previous work,if nisstek were still about hed bloody do it again it comes nowhere near my high standards,it will cost £450 to £500 to put right, thanks pete

I'd say 600 was reasonable for a blow over, but I'd be taking off bumpers, seals and other bits of trim, just to make sure it's spot on. Full repray could cost stupid amounts. Depends on if you're wanting a colour change, resprayed engine bay, underside....this leads on to what you need to remove etc.

For a top quality, decent full respray (i.e. not one taken to Joe Bloggs under the arches who's been recommended through a friend of a friend...;)) for a car of our size you should be looking at a minimum of £2500-2700, working upwards. If you're thinking of a cut price respray just ask youself what corners they must be cutting achieve it, and how long it will stay like that. Would you rather get it right first time and have a car you can be proud of for years to come or settle for something that will require attention again and again in the not too distant future and probably end up costing you more in the long run. You pays your money, you takes your choice as the saying goes...;)

:D Spot on Leigh........

Maybe its worth speaking to steve, bodywork plus mate. Had some dealings with him the other week and he was a thoroughly good bloke. I'd definately consider him if I wanted that type of work done. Think he did Fridays?

Yup, Steve is currently working his magic on my Zed's bodywork and after that he's sorting the respray. Wouldn't go to anyone else for it TBH ;)
