I seem to have a oil leak , it seems high up i think it could be the rocker cover, how difficult of a job is this ? Is this a common leak on the Z ?

Cheers Martin.

I think you have to remove the plenums, so yes it's a pretty big job mate

Have the same problem as you ... big job - need to remove everything off the top of the engine. It's not a bad leak but the car does smell of burning oil after a run and I get the occassional puff of smoke from under the engine when coming to a halt. One of these days I'll get around to it and change everything that I can change whilst I'm in there - just need to rob a bank first!

PS - sorry for this post not being any help to you whatsoever ...

dunno if its common to zeds but it is with my family vauxhall..garage said wait it out till i need something major doing like cam belt, water pump etc...i just keep an eye on the oil level and put up with the smell and puffs of smoke from time to time...seems like danny goes with that too

Yes I do put up with it (and have done for over a year and a half now) ... it is only annoying when you come to a halt infront of a group of people who then start pointing saying the car reeks and is on fire ...

I keep a close eye on the oil level but it doesn't seem to be loosing too much. In my case it is unfortunate that the rocker cover is leaking at the rear of the engine which means I really do need to take the lot off before I can get to it.
