Just got back from my MOT... I was stood in the inspection bay so endured the whole experience from start to finish.

First off, the tester started the car, let it idle and walked away. Now when my car is left to idle, it starts to smoke like a tractor (I'm still assuming PCVs as the car hadn't been on boost). Sure enough, about 5 minutes later, the workshop starts to look like my local pub as my passenger side exhaust is starting to smoke :(

I told the tester that it's caused by blocked PCVs, I've got a set in the garage waiting to go on, and if he starts her up again, the smoke will stop. It did :hyper: (for now).

Everything else went ok, except for when he told me that the windscreen washer pump was on the way out I explained that the reservoir was empty. He dutifully filled it up for me, only for a waterfall to start gushing onto the workshop floor (split in reservoir bottle) - Doh!

Apart from a slightly leaky shock absorber, everything else passed with flying colours (even the emissions). They had to stop and start the car a couple of times when it started to get a little smokey ;)

All in all he was a top fella - he has done my Zed for the last 3 years and is always firm but fair. I had a lot of nice comments about the car from other workshop staff as well. Not bad for a Nissan Main Dealer

Anyways, it passed despite the couple of niggles and I've been advised to get the PCVs changed ASAP :D
