Noooooo, wo'nt be skimping m8, you know what its like when you think you bought the wright stuff an someone tell's you the same thing is available elsewhere for £20 less, just want some opinions that's all.

Plus, doe's anyone know if my stock uk disc's are 280mm??

Yep, Stock front discs are 280mm.

Cough up the extra cost for Portefields (about £80).

More important than the Discs themselves for Braking effect.

I got mintex fast road pads there is LOTS of dust and they are bad for queaking can be bad for break fade.

Over all I wouldnt recommend them.

It would be good to hear from people that have bought pads for the stock calipers and disc size and what they think of them.

Heyyyyyy, autobeast, we met satdy m8, which are bad for dust an brake fade kiddo, mintex or portersfields?? I can get EBC's quiet cheap, anyone used these before??

Hi mate

Mintex are bad for dust and fade. I have never used portersfields. I have heard mixed opinions about EBC, shuddering while braking.

Nice 1 dude, will give mintex and ebc a wide berth then, look's like i will be spending a lil bit o coin wiv smithy's place then.

I know people will cringe when they read this but my brakes were also crap and suffered from fade, i fitted Lucas standard pads , they are dusty but the improvement in braking was brilliant , i feel confident braking hard and as yet havn.t suffered any fade and all for £20 !

I tried EBC Red Stuff and they were lethal when cold in the morning, literally didn't work at the bottom of the hill near my house.

Once they warmed up the grip was fantastic but they wore out in 2 months!

I had Mintex pads when I first upgraded to 3G Brembo slotted discs. They only lasted for 5-6000 miles

And the dust made my alloys look black after 2 days. I haven't used Porterfields but many here rate them v. highly. I currently have the Stillen Metal pads from Mike Feeney (MJP in traders section) and they are excellent. They stop the car very well from 3 figure speeds, make little noise and there's no fade either - all for around £55+vat/delivery. No serious dust problem either.

Richard :smw:

PS EBC are crap ;)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
