Help Ive just bought a damaged/Stolen recovered 92

Twin turbo but it wont start.Engine turns over i can smell fuel but fails to start. All lights come on dash with ignition on is there any built in Mfg immobiliser at all.Alt/water pump belt was missing and water leaks from pump Any ideas welcome

Could be a blown PTU (power transistor) or just a lose/broken sensor-connection somewhere.

 

Did you check if the ECU is still there ?(under the passenger floorboard)...maybe it was stolen/damaged as well.

If it is still there you could try to see if comes up with any diagnostic codes.

(check a few posts back to see how to do this)

This makes diagnosing the problem usually a lot easier.

Sounds like you need a full check done on that car!

 

You ought to get those belts put back on, if the alternator belt is missing and its been sitting around the battery probably needs a charge even though it's turning over.

 

If you can smell fuel, check for leaks around the fuel dampner and connected hoses.

 

Don't run the car if water is leaking from the water pump, running dry is not good. Fine the leak! Maybe it's had a knock and the rad is damaged, although the water pumps do go, maybe someone started to fix it, ie. the missing belts...
