Whenever I select 1 or 2 on my auto tranny then shift up to D it stays stuck on whatever gear it was on! and in order for it to change up to D I have to move the selector to N then back down to D!?!

The trans and torque converter are both a year old and were replaced by a Nissan dealer who says the warrenty lasts only 6 months even though the parts were new!

Any ideas would be a great help.

thanks,

Trev.

Trey,

Have you carried out a diagnostics? There is a procedure in the workshop manual on how to do this and this will tell you if there is a sprcific fault.

It maybe a sticking solenoid valve.

Yup, tried a few times today but couldnt get the procedure to work so I was stumped.

Trey,

6 months warrenty does not sound right, my manual gearbox failed (I know it had a years warrenty) and I got a replacement a year later. I would have thought your box was the same.

I had to pay for labour as the initial install was by a non-Nissan dealer, maybe they are quoting labour.

If I were you I'd phone Nissan UK and make sure you are being told the truth.

Good luck.
