But I have a problem with the way the Prime Minister is picked.

 

Do I vote for a good local MP, who actively takes part in lots of local issues, like unwanted land fills and dual carrages through the middle of the town. Who personally writes in responce to people's letters to him and also then writes follow up letters when an issue you raised a year ago, has progresses further. However I dont like his party's policies and and I dont like his party's leader.

 

Or vote for an unknown person who could be a crap MP, because I would rather have his leader as Prime Minister?

I know a bloke at work who is divorced and pays the mortgage on his ex's house where she lives with her new fella, the CSA take another massive cut of his pay. But it is also those living in the large cities and conurbations. Look at a political map of the whole country and most of it would be painted blue, it's just the cities (London, Brum, Manchester, Liverpool etc) where there are loads more potential seats most of them are labour held.

 

I reckon Scotland should also be given full independence - loads of Labour safe seats there would be gone..... ;)

 

And as for emigrating to Spain - I think I'd prefer Oz :cool:

There are some thick tw@ts who will always vote one way only but I reckon many of the labour votes would have been "tactical" to stop Howard getting in. I agree that "New Labour" has wildly different policies to old Labour, I worked for the NHS and the "New" money went into all the wrong areas, not sure if it was down to Government policy, shite Chief Exec's/directors or both. The NHS is way too top heavy and because British nurses earn shite wages, they're taking in foreigners instead.
