You may be able to help here! What is the quatre mile time of a standard manual 300zx TT. The reason I ask is my mate has just got a standard MR2 turbo and is asking me for a challenge at Santa pod in the summer!! What are my chances!

 

neither of us are going to 'play 'with the cars, ie to lose weight etc.

in the real world when sometimes you need that bit of extra poke to get you out of a tight spot

there is no car i would rather be in than my zed to pick up its skirts and hurl itself at the horizon from everyday driving speeds with absolutley no drama or fuss the mid range and top end grunt are what makes this car still so special today ......

 

when the guy in the boxter in your rear view mirror looks like he is going in reverse

as you pull away smoothly from him at 80mph..remember he is trying very very VERY hard to keep up and is probably kicking himself that some 12 year old motor has just made him look like a complete pratt infront of his new girlfriend ( didnt it wayne :) ))

Had this discussion a while back, got a little heated too. The MR2 will only ever be any good off the line against a zed, rolling starts etc then the MR2 has no chance.

 

On a 1/4 mile with standard cars and equal drivers and equal starts, the MR2 will just pip it.....just before the zed comes flying past......the 1/4 mile isnt long enough for a standard zed to catch a standard MR2 if its behind from the start...

 

But then who knows two drivers that drive exactly the same... :)

 

You have a good chance, just make sure you get a better reaction time and keep your foot to the floor if its an auto.... ;)

would not worry about type r's ive nailed so many it gets boring.

yep dont let it worry a few mods it these things move real fast, you can scratch all of the above cars off your list. i just done a evo 8 today (rolling start off a roundabout) and bye bye evo) when i slowed down and he pulled along side he looked we'll pi$$ed off. all was done on a private road.

This is off on a tangent, but I bought the BBS alloys off you a while back. Got some phots if you're interested. Give us an email sometime as I'm living near you now.

Trashed my engine a few weeks after meeting you, fully rebuilt it myself over christmas with new pistons, etc, then did the bottom end a couple of months ago! Think I'm going to get a new one put in professionally.

You seem a bit despondent about you're Z. I thought it looked awesome when i saw it. Sounded great too.
