Anyway the HICAS light i on all the time , I know its to do with the four wheel steer but can anyone help as to how to fix it?

You could try topping up the fluid level as it is more than likely low, hence the warning light.

If the fluid level is normal then you have other problems.

the Hicas and power steering run off the same resevoir m8, mines got a small leak and needs a top up every few weeks, start there.

oh, and.....U LUCKY GIT  !!!!!!! lol

welcome to the site and enjoy the car ;)

If the fluid level is fine then It could also be that the Hicas has been unplugged (as many prefer the car without Hicas)

Under the bonnet, left hand side is the Hicas unit stuff. Check for a brown Electrical connector that may have been unplugged and then two of the pins shorted with something like a spade connector.

Thanks chris p. Will have a look tomorrow ta.

Cheers BacE . Dont know if I'm that lucky, you aint seen the car yet!!!! A bit tatty!!!

is the speedo working

as i think it works off that

the speed converter was wired up wrong way round, and hicas light was on

rewired correctly,,no more hicas light

checked the fluid levels- all ok. The brown connector has wires crimped to the yellow and green wires with spades on the end but not connected to anything!!! if i join them together what will happen??????

Sounds like someone has disabled HICAS for you. Don't know what would happen if you joined them together - maybe HICAS would work again?

Disclaimer: I'm not a mechanic so I don't know for sure.
