Would it be the first Datsun rally winner?

That's quick! A good start but not the whole story...

And the real reason why it's important?

did the boss of nissan own or race it to victory in 1958? which in turn brought in the cash to save the company and carry on and develop zed's......or sommit....

It has better bodywork than most UK zeds?

But more reliable than imported dogs:D;)

It was Mr K's car, that he drove in the 1958 Mobilgas 10,000-mile Australian Trial, and subsiquently won :D

Nope - as you can see from the crew names. But close enough, give this man a ceeegar

Mr K was the marketing exec who pushed for Nissan to enter the Mobilgas - their first Rally. He got the job of running the team. And they won their class! Without this car, that team and their win, no Zeds....

I see Red was considered faster then as well!!!
