oh god here it goes again !!!!! :headvswal

What ever I say, someone will disagree. What ever they say, someone else will disagree. And I dont know the answer anyway.... So I am saying almost nothing, and no one can disagree with it. So what am I going to say?

DO A SEARCH.......:-)

didnt want to open a can of worms, will look elsewhere!! lol

ROFL...

Personally I have chosen an oil that is recommended by an engine re-builder who knows his stuff as they get to see "the proof in the pudding" if you know what i mean.

Millers 10W60...for a twin turbo jobbie..will be different rating for a N/A

hehehe...this should get em started again :x:

yeah, Millers have been recommended to me by mr F at mjp, an expert on all the Z's, he's found this to be the most used by enthusiasts.

I am at the moment changing my diff oil as it is off the car for cleaning, so recomendations would be appreciated. ( no mention of engine oli ! )

It's gotta be Miller's every time. Use fully synthetic if your Z is low millage, if it's done more than 100,000 then Miller's semi-synthetic is a good bet.. 10-40w to 10-60w... Miller's also do some sepcific gearbox oil too...

Yep pretty much done to death - especially when I appear.

So, what should you be using was your question, here's the answer. To find out what I recommend you'll need to pm or email me as it will probably cause another oil war.

thanks oilman, tried to send you a pm but you couldnt receive one. I need to change the diff oil now, what would be your recomendations?..would it be ok to get back to you when i need to do the engine and gearbox. ( i'm restoring the car !)

regards

Mark

I would recommend a 75w-90 that has GL4/GL5 and approved for LSD's or a dedicated 90 LS oil.

Try emailing me through my profile, it appears my PM capability has been disabled. If you have problems then contact me through SXOC.

Cheers

Ahh, that will be the Fish & Chip shop then just down the road from my house!!! The boy's at Richard's Bros recommended me to the Miller's Stuff - seem's to work a treat!!! Good to know someone on here is near by for advice!! Me Red Zed's normally parked outside Comet in Pool there... Cheers Simon!

They used to supply only Silkolene years ago. I think they still do but probably too expensive for most of the GTI and SRI boys!

Forgot to say, the guy at the chipshop used to have a 300ZX about 12 years ago, think he's got a Jag now though.

Yeah, I've know Nigel for quiet a few years now!! I was still at school when he got his ZX - always promised myself I would have a car like that one day, finally did 3 years ago when I hit 25!! He still sayz the 300ZX is probably one of the best cars he's ever had!!
