This may sound a realy stupid question but i hav a light that comes on on the dash sometimes that says power..... er wots it for?, also whats a tech day?

 

Oh and while im at it, on a jap car, does the speed limiter actualy limit the speed, or is it just the reeeeeaaaaly f**kin annoying beeping thet occurs at about 110 kph??

power button/light ups the rev limmit I think??

The Speed limiter does indeed limit the speed....to about 112mph, although mine has no limiter it would appear.

it recalabrates the gearbox---ie changes the shift points in relation to engine revs,power and hold.the hold mode is ideal for wet conditions because it makes ths gearbox less "frantic" thus aiding traction

my import is a manual no light but chimes at 70 mph if you remove instrument cover you will find the offending box disconnect no more annoying bing bing noise all jap imports seem to have them as standard. :nana2:

Cheers guys, im happy now, that beeping is so annoying, if they fit those to all jap cars that will be why they invented harri karri!!

The 'power' light comes on when the car thinks you're driving hard. As said above, it makes it quicker.

 

You can also turn it on manualy with the power/hold switch on the autobox.

if the power light flashes at you, i believe it could be relaying a problem. mine flashed like mad when i had a hole in my rad and the car overheated! as craig says, it usually means youre booting it :cool:

WHen it happened i was traveling up a slight incline on the motorway, it was raining, and it stayed on for about 30 secs (i was doing about 60), what i didnt notice was the car stayed in second gear, as the light went out the car shifted up,just been t to try and duplicate it (any excuse to drive it!) same road, same speed, but no rain, and it didnt happen, dont suppose it would have been whelspin cos id have noticed, ill just have to keep my eye on it. One last question WOTS A TECH MEET??? :)
