Does anyone know if you can buy these already made i.e with the black stripped off? I tried it on mine and the glue and rubber on the edges makes not for a very nice finish, you end up taking too much off and it looks like you could let water run in where the rubber is cut...

Such a waste they take all that tme to put that black rubber over it when it looks better without!

I have never seen them for sale in chrome, but when mine started peeling, I removed the rest of the black rubber so I could have a go at the "Black Electrical tape" trick. It came off easy enough wiithout any residue.

I personaly think it looks much better black than chrome though ;)

Me too.....

...leave the chrome for classic MGs etc :smash:

Ever seen two 5 series Beemers side by side, otherwise identical apart from one with chrome window surrounds and one with black?

The black looks so much more modern and sporty and the chrome looks like a grandad's car :hurl:

But hey, each to their own

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I guess....I had a look at the zcentre..the prices he gives when he says "each" can i assume (please god) he means each pair..not each side????!

each side  im affraid +vat+postage=WHAT A JOKE

Why is it in the Uk that all the places that sell stuff for zeds feel the need to charge 3 times what you can buy directly yourself from america for !! And in most cases they are geting it from the same place you could.

i might move to the states :headvswal

jeeeeeezusss...anyone know where i can get it from the states then!!!!!

Or is it a case that, as the US has so many zeds running around, in a much bigger country, that they can afford to import a hell of a lot more stock in from Japan than we can in the UK?? It wouldn't even surprise me if there was a Nissan factory in the US producing these spare parts.

So, therefore, the stock requirements in this country do not permit the ordering of vast quantities in order to make a much better price for the customer.

The likes of the ZCentre have to pay a price for a small quantity, + import duty, + VAT, this cost has to be passed onto the customer. Oh! And don't forget that you have to pay import duty when you order stuff from the US aswell.

Example..... For one windscreen pillar trim....

From ZCentre £34.08 (Inc VAT) + P&P

From Courtesyparts £25.08 + Shipping (which is expensive from them) + Import Duty + VAT

Now which one is cheaper?

MM not sure iwould agree, i can piont you to several products that in the UK are 3 and 4 times more expensive than the US. Now even with the stamp dutys etc there is no justification for a 4 fold increase.

Some products are readily available from a well known auction site from reputable companies and it would not suprsie me one bit if half the stuff available in the UK does not come form there.

Most of the time they do not pay import duty anyway because as you say they only order one at a time and it "slips through" customes. How do i know this, wel i been there done that and all the VAT Duty etc is often overlooked if it only a small amount of items.

I see your point but i stand by what i say, in th UK we get shafted simple as that, and i am sure that if i were to put a poll up that a lot of the Zed owners would agree that a large amount of the goods on offer over here are quite simply overpriced and you could argue that some are profeteering from there connection with the owners club ?

I've used CZP in the US, they were very good, and the shipping wasn't too bad (considering how much it weighed) I didn't pay import duty on the items. But I'm informed (and this is why I didn't use Courtesy) that the shipping cost from Courtesy is high to the UK, and they use UPS, which defo charge import duty, because they use there own vans/people to bring it to your door, and charge it accordingly (so be warned people ;) ) CZP use US Postal service over there, and Royal Mail Worldwide over here, so you could loose the duty payment.

But I do agree that we do get ripped of for a lot of stuff over here in the UK.

just totalled all the bits up...309 inc vat + del...i feel a bit sick.
