Hopefully I'm heading to Nurbergring soon and will of course be going via the odd autobahn and would like to find out my Zeds top speed. Are there any speed limits on these roads?

Cheers

With regards to driving on German autobahns I believe there are no restrictions but there are advisory limits. If you are involved in an accident resulting from driving above these advisory limits I am under the impression that your insurance is then invalid and you are personally responsible for all claims against you. Your choice....................

PS From experience (3 years residence in Germany) it doesn't matter how fast you drive on an Autobahn, there is always someone with a car that's faster than yours!!!

totally agree with apache,my bro was in the army in germany,he said if your speeding and you crash they will tow you off the road and leave you there obviously if your still alive LOL

It is un writen that the advisory speed limit on the Autobahn is 120 mph...but after living and serving there for neally 11 yrs........Put ya foot down fella and enjoy :D:D

The only thing the GCP (German Civil police) will jump on you for is being to close to the person in front of you :nono:

Hear, hear, totaly agree with the above statments. Ive already been posted there and now going again. The speed is not a law but advisory in some areas like entry/exit points. Just go for it!!!!

I will vote for tony if he sorts that rulling for the M25 ;)

It is limitless (as above) but...

drive sensibly, if its raining or similar bad driving conditions you can still get in trouble for speeding (I think?)

Jonno,I will take your offer up and come and visit you, will be a good excuse to see what top end the beast has;)

Hey Mac

good luck with a top speed run, BUT, like I've already said there's always someone with a faster car!!!!!! (maybe not today but tomorrow................)

even if it was unlimited, the M25 would be gridlocked, pot hole heaven, full of lorries on the outside lane, raining, fog, smog, old grannies, caravans, and cops in plain wrappers ever 20 feet.

I take it you don't often travel on it :D

Which way are you going, there isn't actually that much Autobahn to have fun on (E40 - N67 - A258 - Ring)! Although there are plenty of long wide motorways to satisfy before you get to the main event :D

Thanks for all the info. :) Gonna make a small detour for the autobahn. We're planning to hit the track Good Friday morning. It's going to be busy!!

Will let you know how it goes.

Cheers
