boost prob

Ok, all has been ok with the car, untill T-Pot starts playing...

removed my boost jet's today to see what size they were, placed them back in, and now my boost seems all to cock..

at tick over, the gauge used to sit at zero, and now, she drops as soon as started to a minus

i'm only running 0.5bar and have not had a problem untill i removed these today...

what have i done?

I also tried to adjust my bov's too....actually, i think i should throw my spaners away......

tbh mate, it sounds like you've fixed the problem! The boost gauge is supposed to be well into the negative (vacuum) at idle. I could be way off here, but if it was sitting at 0 at idle, wouldn't that indicate a massive leak?

thats how it should be (minus at idle)

Fook off????? im a good mechanic then ????

I hope your right blue.......

See, i was right ;)

See, i was right ;)

Yeah, but i was told NEVER to believe you..............

How come your only running 0.5 bar with boost jets ? Thats less than stock

i'm hoping cause it had a boost leak..........

tell ya when i have seats in it to try it out

1.2mm should give ya 12psi,iff your motor is not giving vacume at idle then you must have a leak, check the pipes have not stretched with taking out the jets and are not tight on the small actuator take offs

She is giving vacum now mate, she wasnt before, and i thought it was normal lol...

she has 1mm jets in now, and i have no idea what psi it's running now as i cant take it out to try ...

any ideas?

would a leak make this much of a difference ?

How much vacume is there at idle 800rpm (no automatic choke on)

the needle should be right on the edge of the gauge to the far left

on the dash gauge, its right over to left, on my aftermarket gauge, its reading -500 mmhg on tick over and sits at 0 when engine is off

before, it was always on 0 until i put gas on

Get rid of the Jets and get ya self a decent Boost controller :D and :slap: the person who said dont listen to Chunkle...:rofl:

the same size jets in 2 cars wont allways give you the same results, ive had 3 zeds and the vacume-psi have been diffrent in each one. bore wear, tub condition, hoses and clips, all play there own combination in deciding the end result. by the way mate are you running a chip to compansate for increase in boost, iff not then you should do!!!! iff you need a uprated ecu you could try chris greddy,he can do you a good deal on that side of things :)
