Been offered a new Job, which come with a company car.

 

My current Job is fine but i would like to get back into Field Sales.

 

Only major problem is, my wife wont have 3 cars in the household. With 2 kids my car will become the obsolete one.

 

Anybody know where i can get a new wife from?

Well my wife had to move the zed last week and the next day after looking for half an hour to find they keys, I found them still in the ignition of my unlocked car. As you can see she really loves my car LOL.

Will they offer you car allowance instead of a company car, and you can used the Zed instead (or would it involve a lot of high mileage, and they have rules on it having to be 4 doors..etc) ?

Ill have to look into that as they do offer an allowance, but im sure my zed will be too un-relible for the job LOL.

TBH mate, tell the wife to sling it, its YOUR car, YOUR job and if she doesnt like it then tell her to jack her car in! Why won't she have three cars? To be honest though women are funny like that, still if she's allowed 100's pairs of shoes and a wardrobe thats bursting at the seams then tell her u can keep your car.

You should look at the tax situation - you get hammered so much for a company car these days. Maybe as much as 35% of its value is counted as your income each year. You'd probably be much better off taking their allowance and running your own car. Which is a great excuse for keeping the Zed.

Have you considered having ya Zed stretched limo style? Not so much a LWB as a XLWB :dance:

You'll then be able to buy an air freshener for your new company car!

Best idea is to get a car cover and put it on the zed, colour some stones onto it and a few bushes etc and suprise her by showing her the lovely new rockery you have built for her from the proceeds of selling the z. She will think your top and feel guilty about making you sell it after your grand gesture, play on it and then she may let you get the porsche adn whoo you got a zed and a porche and a happy wife to :dance:

Depends on how much driving you would do for work.

 

If you would do a lot of travelling, I agree with Trinity - take the company car and rent a garage for the ZX. Just get a low emission diesel car and the tax is pretty low.

 

If you won't be doing loads of miles ask for the money instead.

 

I could have had a car with my new job, an A4 or BM 320 TDi - the benefit was around 18% of the list price IIRC. But it was purely a perk - I don't travel for work, just home to office so I kept the ZX and took £500 per month car allowance instead.
